  • Still one of the best jerkys in Australia.

  • My dad loves Biltong! Any chance you can you do a deal on the biltong value pack?
    Where are they shipped from?

    • Queensland.

I like the photos of young people living life to the fullest, thanks to the jerky. Jerky looks like a real party starter.

So Dad Bag has 3x 85g packs, plus stubbie holder and hessian bag, for $35. That's $11.66 per 85g, or effectively $137.18 per kg (plus the gifts) with the free shipping code. One of them is a 160g pepperoni though, which is normally $10.

If you buy 10 or more of the 85g bags the regular deal brings them down to $8 each, or $94.12 per kg with the free shipping code. Pretty generous of Jim considering the 1kg packs of a single flavour cost $90. It's much value than the Dad Bag if you want lots of jerky anyway. You could give your dad three of the 85g packs from the 10 you order, keep 7 packs for yourself paying $8 per pack, and use the $11 effectively saved from not buying the Dad Bag to buy him a stubbie holder from somewhere else that he might like even better than the Jim's Jerky branded one.

    • Yep agreed. the dad's bag is a rip off. I bought the normal mix value pack instead of the dad bag as it works out to be a little better. never tried these guys before, but lets see whether I'll be a returning customer. gotta say, their prices arent off to a great start.

Hell, for $50/Kg I'll make up some of my own jerky and send it your way. You can even choose whether you'd like it tender or dry and which of three flavours, all of which can include chilli or not.

      Screw the commercial crap.

Or just buy your own dehydrator for $50 and do it yourself too.

  • How do these compare to the Jack Links?

I don't really eat jerkey, buying for my dad.

    • Probably any jerky from any jerky maker will be better than jack links. Jack links is rubbery and sweet, real jerky tens to be a little tougher with meaty texture. Jack Links is decent for a small snack but it's not real jerky. Whether Jim's Jerky is better than any other dedicated jerky seller out there, I don't know. I've never tried it before. It's got to be better than jack links I'd guess.

      • thanks. all i needed to know.

    • I ate an old gumboot once. Jack Links tastes the same as that.

      • Must have been a sugary boot!

Yeah no - not a good enough bargain. Guess dad misses out this year. Where's the 30/40% off there rep?

  • +1

Sorry rep, it seems you forgot to post a bargain.

  • Anyone who has tried this AND the biltong from The South African Shop in Melbourne car to compare? Heck, this and Geronimo’s even?

  • not working?
