Apparently My Shoes Weigh Too Much

My physiotherapist told me at my last appointment that my shoes are too heavy. Seems that's a thing, who knew? They're just normal Colorado shoes.

She's suggested that I get some lighter shoes, maybe some trainers/runners/sneakers/sport shoes/whatever they're called nowdays.

So, can anyone recommend something that looks at least a bit like it's a dress shoe (black), and isn't terribly expensive? I don't really have a dress code at work, but I've never been a sneaker kind of guy, so I want to ease into this new casualness.

Also at the bottom is a rather amusing section:

People noted for wearing socks and sandals include:

    • Qi Lu, computer scientist and former Microsoft executive.[29][30][31]
    • Linus Sebastian, YouTube personality, presenter, producer, and founder of Linus Media Group.[32]
    • Ethan Klein, YouTube personality, cofounder of h3h3Productions.
    • Kyle Gass, member of rock group Tenacious D.
  • Jc what was the effect of having heavy shoes, i've never heard of that either.

    Sore ankles?

  • Nike Epic React or Adidas Ultra Boost

    • Very pricey!

your physio didnt want to be rude and say your legs are too weak. today, tomorrow and everyday is leg day.

    • Wouldn't wearing heavy shoes every day help?

      • I assume heavy shoes are bad for the knees, being as they add weight to the lower leg and adds strain to the knee joint when walking. At the same time, they're so far from the knee joint (which is why they'd add strain) that they wouldn't actually provide any meaningful exercise to the smaller muscles around the knee.

Or so my absolutely-not-trained-in-any-medical-field brain thinks.

        • Ozbargain medical advice is still preferred, and free

      • not trying to help, trying to get a repeat customer.
