    But…36 months….

    • True that. It is such a long time

  • 36 Months? That sucks

  • Do they extend the warranties to years? I mean I'm sure you can argue down the track, but just more effort trying to justify.

    • +6

The ACCC weighed in on this few few years ago stating it automatically extends the warranty. Because statutory warranty states you must get a reasonable life and service for a product and it is patently unreasonable that a product is not serviceable for its contract period.

36 Months? Tell them their dreaming!

    • +8

      They're

      • +1

No, this might actually be their dreaming!

        • If it's their, then it can be their dream.. not their dreaming.. ie Tell them it's their dream..!!

        • @Rookie1:
Well when saying dreaming Trantor may have been referring to this plan as being something of their dreaming.

Not a good deal imo. Can get a plan at optus for 25GB + 5GB bonus for $89 per month for 24 months which equals $2136 compared to 2.5GB on Woolies Mobile $61.63 per month at 36 Months which equals $2218.68 which is nearly $100 saving. That was just looking at Optus nowhere else. Also get GPM, Spotify and iHeartRadio streaming free, Nat Geo free and Optus Sport free. If you are a student or know someone you can get a code for 10% off (not sure if it works with this deal) but assuming it works, only $1922.40 altogether. Doesn't come with data banking but surely the amount of data is sufficient.

    62 a month for 36 months.

    That means 2556 in total.

Price of phone is 1500, that means you are paying 1056 for the plan over 36 months, so that means 30 per month.

    For 2.5 gb.

Why not buy outright and get a sim only? Or prepaid

36 months, the Samsung Galaxy Note 25 will be out in 3 years time !

    • +1

Not to mention the screen will be 14 inches (7' when folded)
      https://www.techradar.com/au/news/samsung-galaxy-x-the-story…

    • And it will be $5000

    • Goals should be make your phone last 3 years.

      • +1

I am still rocking my Oneplus One on Oreo, soon to be Pie.

        • Good work. I don't think I could last that long

        • -1

@OnlinePred: I thought phones have small upgrades anyway, so upgrading every 3 years doesn't sound so bad. The galaxy s7 edge is still comparable to s9.
The note 7 if it didn't explode is comparable to note 9.
Fair to say that the the note 9 may be comparable to note 11.

        • @Bimo: no definitely not. The only thing they have in common are that they are phones.

        • @sn809 which rom are you using?

  • So much cheaper just buying it outright with a kogan plan. $23 odd dollars a month for 24gb

  • Make the monthly price lower, increase the contract term.

  • +1

Don’t know why anyone would sign up to these.. Optus $79 x 24m for 30GB (128gb model) + 20% off if you sign up at Harvey Norman by today, or just buy outright n go on sim, going way below rrp on eBay $1300-1400 for 512gb model

    • Latest deal posted on OzBargain was $84 for the 20GB/m deal at Harvey Norman (only available by including the 20% off). Where did you get $79 + 20% off?

      • Last deal was $91 for the 512gb model or $84 for regional, currently My mistake it’s $79 - 20% + $10 handset for 128gb model, either way this Woolworths deal is sh it

  • +4

How is this even a bargain?

    Optus 24 months $89 25gb
    https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/phones/samsung/galaxy-n…

    compare to:
$92.45 per month over 24 months for 6GB Small plan.

For coverage i have no comment, since it use 'part of telstra' so I am not sure how well/bad it actually is.

    • Thank you for actually calling the post out for not being a deal.

  • I will jump in if there is 12 months phone plan.

  • I remember when the Galaxy S8 was released, Woolworths Mobile has some great deals (not sure if it was the same for the S9). Their Note 9 deals are disappointing.

  • Costco has the note8 for $999 now. Give it a few weeks and probably low $800

  • +3

People don't buy outright because they cannot afford it.

    • Nah, I think when people but outright they buy a more reasonably priced phone

    • Most of the time that the case for those on phone contract.

    • If you can't afford to buy outright don't bother with plans. Why not just save up?

  • We got S9 with Woolworths on their 36 month plan, and do not have any databank rollover. WTF?

  • I saw note 9 for $61.63, got excited, then I saw 36 mths…
