Best Automotive Store/Online Which Offers Better Prices to Brick N Mortar Store

Im trying to find better prices for car parts especially filters (air filter, oil filter and cabin filters for my Ford Focus 2004). The average brick n motar stores such as Supercheap, Autobarn and Repco are overpriced are finding other alternatives to make purcahses.

sparesbox is worth a look. Plus there was an amex offer a month or so ago, where their price on a part was already 20% lower than anyone else I could find, and I got another $50 amex credit back. They also have an ebay store which is sometimes part of 20% off deals, so compare that (all ebay sellers for your parts) as well.

That said, the stores you've listed would sell oil filters for $20 or less for your car, not sure how cheap you think you can get one.

How would you know they were overpriced if you didn't already find a cheap store…? Where are you getting your price benchmark from?

  • I used sparesbox a couple of months ago, took 2 weeks to ship without a single notification about what was happening.

  • I used this ebay source for kits for my falcon, kit was genuine oil filter, 6 genuine platinum spark plugs, and air filter worked out about 30 cheaper than supercheap/autobarn etc delivered pretty quick from victoria, Jefferson Fords (ebay)spare part div also has the same kind of kits at similar prices

  • Z632 oil filter from Supercheap can be had for $8.99, a Z63 for $16.99. Not 100% which one suits your car because you didn’t give much info… but how much cheaper do you want these filters??

It is a Ford Focus, so you’re probably right, at $20 for a filter replacement, it’s over 50% of the replacement cost of the vehicle, making it an economic writeoff…

    • Pretty much what he said. Lol

    • at $20 for a filter replacement, it’s over 50% of the replacement cost of the vehicle

      Haha straight savage…
