Thanks Numpty. Picked up a pair. I don't run a lot but I walk a lot! Fingers crossed they'll suit my needs!

Never gamble on shoes online. Try them out in a store and then do it.

You spend countless hours on these things so you want to make sure they’re right.

      • +5

        I'm sure they'll be fine.
I buy all my shoes online and never had an issue.

      • Having a short walk around an Athletes Foot or Rebel doesn't tell you much outside of sizing (you need to go for a few runs to get a proper feel of how well a shoe suits you). Plus you are pretty much guaranteed to pay RRP unless it's a crap colour or low end model on sale.

Outside of some killer prices and a great range, these guys have a 30 day return policy, so if it doesn't fit or feel right, you can send it back for a refund if unworn, or store credit if worn

      • Just look at the specs and make sure they are right. It's very bad to mess it up I agree, but it can be safely managed.

        • My podiatrist reckons they're not as good as the ones they replaced… the GT2170.

And suggested I get the GT1000 instead.

I dont run.. just an under pronator.

      • They are $80, this is cheap for these shoes. I'm gambling!

  • thnx OP

is there any good Neutral Running Shoes on sale?

  • Thanks OP, these are my go to shoes and was only saying yesterday that I wanted a second new pair if the price was right!

Hopefully no issues with using the coupon code :)

    • +1

should be no dramas, i bought a pair last night and got shipping notification this morning.

  • Looks a bit mixed on the reviews

    https://runrepeat.com/asics-gt-2000-6

  • These are great shoes! Damn no yeti width ones for me (2E)

    • +2

I just ordered a couple more pairs of NB 860 v8 in 2E width. I used to wear Kayano's but they were a bit too narrow for me, and got metatarsophalangeal bursa (ball of foot pain) after hill climbs. Switched to the wider shoe and no more pain. After that coupon, shoe is $97 delivered.

  • I picked these up at rebel sports a few months ago. Within a month, they started to wear down the sides of where my little toes were as it's only mesh and it wasn't reinforced. I returned them and got some Adidas' instead and they've held up pretty good so far. Maybe I got a defective pair, but just a word of warning for those who want to use these as an everyday pair of shoes.

    • rebel good with returns eh ?

      • Yeah, they're pretty decent. I lost my receipt as well and they found it on the system. I can't recommend rebels customer service enough!

    • +1

Same thing happened to mine, would buy again though as a second pair (certainly not an everyday shoe)

      • Yeah, they were super comfortable. It was a damn shame honestly. I must prefer these than the Adidas'I got as a replacement.

  • Sadly no 10.5 sizing

  • +1

    start at size 9.5….

crawls back in hole with my size 8 feet. :-(

    • It is US sizing btw.

    • -1

      Is that you Frodo?

  • +1

Thanks man, my trainers are super daggy and I love the colour!

  • I usually wear US 9 and so are my current asics. Do you think getting 9.5 will be too much of a change?

    • +1

      US 9 is about 26cm and a US 9.5 is 26.5cm
      5mm i'd give them a go.
Feet swell during running, it's recommend going one-half size larger than normal when getting running shoes

    • Thanks OP.
I own these shoes in a 9 which i paid $200 for $80 i took the chance on the 9.5. I wear them for my everyday shoes no running

  • Bit too sporty looking as a casual shoe.

  • +1

Great timing, have been looking for a new pair of runners. 2 day delivery is nice too.

    Thanks OP.

      Received today, thanks again!

      • Mine arrived today also

        • +1

          Mine too. Thanks OP

    Thanks OP. Got one pair.

  • +2

Any tried Kayano and these before? How does it compare?

  • From the pair I tried on, having been buying the GT2000 for a few years now, they appear to have made them narrower toward the front.
I normally buy a UK/AU size 9EE but no good with this version 6.
Even the next size up was no good.
I settled for the GT1000 6 whose fit seemed the same as last years model (5)

  • How would "Shoe width: Wide (D)"compare with a "normal" width version??

    • +2

D is the standard width, men's shoes

      B = Narrow
      D = Standard
      2E = Wide
      4E = Extra wide

  • Try hoka shoes for running, they are amazing. Bought two pairs from running warehouse when they had a 30% off code

  • Nice deal. Got one. Thanks

  • Thanks! I was looking to grab some of these or the 3000s at athletes foot on sale but they were out of 12s.

  • Bought. Thanks op.

Anyone else not receive a confirmation email from the website itself? I purchased without making an account. I did get a PayPal invoice.

    • I got an e-mail about 10 minutes after ordering, saying I would get a follow-up confirmation then a shipped e-mail. Received neither, yet. We'll see what happens…

    • Did you create account for that .

    • Same issues with me as well it's been 6 hrs.

      • +1

Just received a confirmation email. All is good.

  • Bought, not sure if I’m gonna run

  • Has the price gone up? Just tried to grab a pair and they are $125 and the promo code then brings them down to $93.75. After years of running in Kayano's for long runs and DS-Trainer for racing I bought some GT-2000 6's a couple of months ago from Catch, they aren't as immediately comfortable as the Kayano's were, but they have settled in after a few runs and feel almost as nice on, so wouldn't mind stashing a pair away at that price.

    • +1

Yeah must be expired. They were $100 when I applied the coupon yesterday.

      • Bugger! Still a good price, but not an OzBargain kind of price!

        • +1

they now have 20% off gift cards.
You could purchase a $100 gift card for $80 and bring the final price back down to $85…

  • Thanks Numpty, unfortunately missed the good price opted for the black and white pair on kogan for $109.00 good Father’s Day present, sadly the old man didn’t like the red in the other pair. If anyone’s interested

    • +1

      good find pizzapock3t
i think $109 delivered is still a good price for these shoes.
i currently have a pair of the black, they look awesome.

      • I thought so too,

How do u find they last ? Couple of people mentioning they wear out quick

        • I have 500km+ on mine and no sign of wear so far, fantastic shoe for me.
The only problem i'm seeing now is a small hole starting to show in the big toe area, but i seem to get this with all my running shoes.

        • Awesome, he walk/runs a lot so these will be great then.

  • +1

Glad I took the punt on these shoes.

Been wearing them for a few days now. Extremely comfy. Fingers crossed the mesh holds up.

  • +1

Yea godly shoes, so much better than the old ones I replaced. Fits like a glove.

  • Coupon still working for me. Applied against a couple pairs and got a message that it was expired with a button to apply and gave me 25%
