Cheapest price I can find on the Sony A7R II at the moment. Digidirect currently has it as $2.888.
Nice find! These have drop quite a lot since earlier this year when I bought mine for $3k plus the $500 eftpos card. Couldn’t find anything lower than that at the time.
For this model, you should really wait until Sony comes up with EFTPOS Cashback promo. You could get a $500 refund and with the current pricing it may bring the total below $2000.

I bought the a7ii but I feel slight regret and maybe should have just gone A7Rii.
Some things reviews don't really tell you/I missed:
I hate that the auto-iso doesn't allow shutter speed limits etc… bloody 1/60 all day everyday in Aperture Priority.
Another thing A7Rii > A7ii is that you can customise a button to switch between viewfinder and monitor…
All of these easily fixable with a firmware update…. but doubt Sony would.
But then again.. at the time the A7ii was half price of A7Rii… why can't we have everything?
Personally.. at this price, the difference is too close to A7iii with A7iii offering so much more advantage (except the resolution, which for most is not a deal breaker). Unless you're desperate for a body now I reckon wait until cashback promo appears or A7iii is in stock.
@John: I'm tempted to get the A7R III for the 500,000 shutter endurance, dual sd slots, and bigger Z battery. The 42 MP sensor means I can effectively double my focal length when cropping it to a 24 MP image. Videopro has it for $3,432 now. Not sure if I should wait. Need to invest in lenses first -_- … and it's a coincidence that the A7 III is not listed during the 20% off sales.
@PlushToys: The Z battery is amazing. Did a wedding recently and only used 1.5 batteries. Its so much better than Canon LP-E6.
I spoke to Sony's sale department about 3 weeks ago and it seemed without him telling me flat out that i should expect either a massive sale on the a6300 or another eftpos promotion around late september for Photokina.
But i could have been reading into it a bit further then he meant
If I am not mistaken, Sony eftpos promotion only happen during winter and summer, which is usually from 1st of June to 31st of July and 1st December (or 15th November) to 31st January respectively. I don't think they will be any eftpos promotion until summer. Overall, the eftpos promotion is usually better in summer than winter. Anyway, the eftpos promotion usually will not have better price as compare with 20% off good camera deal in eBay, unless you wait to combine both promotion until the period.
Also, if there is new A6700(or A7000) coming out, the old A6 series might have slightly better price but i doubt it will be massive sale..
