  • It's highly recommended that you consider sourcing the parts yourself and building it. You'll get a cheaper system and a great sense of achievement.

If you really don't want to build your own (highly recommended), I've used PC Case Gear for numerous purchases of components.
Very reliable seller and fairly competitive on price.

Here's a list of their pre-built read to ship systems.

$1,500 will get you a decent system with a monitor and keyboard.

    • I want to build but what can I get for say $1200 if I built myself, I have a keyboard and mouse so just after tower/components and a monitor (current alienware monitor I use with my ps4)

      • Jump on YouTube and type in "Budget/Mid-Range Gaming Build". There's hundreds of videos comparing components, some of which even hold your hand through the building process too.

With love, care and attention to cable management, I think a complete newbie could finish a whole build, install windows and be browsing Chrome in 3 to 4 hours.

You will not regret building. Every time you power on the computer you'll get the satisfaction that you saved a bunch of money and had fun doing it.

        • Doesn't seem that much cheaper given these sites in looking at have no eBay discounts and no free shipping.

Seems about the same price to order a pre build on eBay with free shipping and 20% off.

  • +1

What are you getting? From what I understand you're almost always better off building it yourself.

  • 20% ebay $1500 , can get you gtx 1080 prebuilt

  • Its ok but not great, 12gb ssd will fill up with games really fast. once you add on all your bits it adds up.
As qwerty says if you can build it yourself you will save heaps and learn a whole lot. Its not hard and there are heaps of guide out there.
    8600k+M2 mobo+500gb SSD+1060+32"1440 monitor+8gb RAM+GoldPSU+Case+OEM windows comes to $1200.
This is better in every way and leaves you room to upgrade at a later date.
Future proof with 1070ti, 16gb ram, +2tb hd brings it up to ~$1520.

    • Cheers $1200 would be a great price, maybe even get extra ram, where could I buy a case, I must buy windows correct, and how many hours to build?
