  • i should really get my prescription details

    good price though

(although not technically a freebie as you have to pay shipping)

    • +1

I know :S. But it seemed more approproate to add the freebie tag, but i DID specify you need to pay shipoing, but hey, $10-$15 is a really good deal for a pair of glasses.

    • +14

i wish u did so that u could read the voting guidelines. Just so that u can't take advantage of an offer doesn't make it a negative.

      • -3

        i didnt neg??

      • -3

i must have misclicked then because i had actually planned to vote it positive and now it shows as no vote…

        • +5

          i believe you(honest) :)

        • +1

i hereby announce this as an….EPIC FAIL

        • +2

lol, well honest enough mistake I guess… (and just in case there's anybody who hadn't picked up on what happened)

nubzy thought he clicked positive but did in fact click negative. Thus when everyone voted down his comment the neg was auto-revoked (giving the possible appearance he revoked it himself)

And I've gone and voted positive to try in vain to even things out slightly ;) Ironically lots of you guys were quick to vote down on the comment :P

    • +1

what so your negging cos you don't wear glasses
and therefore this product isn't for you, so why neg?

    • +5

if nubzy was a true ozbargainer, then he'd get these free glasses, even if he had no use for them… just because they are free…

      • +4

        we're frugal consumers, not assholes.

      • No he would get them if shipping was also free. That would be truly frugal.

    • +1

      sigh…

    • lol it's funny how nubzy whinges about the price of a carton of coke but then is only too happy to part with big $$$ on the huge mark-ups that luxottica have on their sunnies.

  • +1

these guys are awesome, beats specsavers and opsm for sure

    • zenni optical are even better :)

opsm is owned by luxocitti of course, so no surprises there

    • lol well obviously free would beat anything…

  • Hm, i guess it IS more appropriate without the tag…hm. Thanks Mod-who-removed-the-freebie-tag. And nubzy, that is pretty unozbargainer like to neg a freebie for that reason :/.

  • Is this offer info shown online (or was it via an email)? How did/do you tell how many are left? Thanks

    • +1

Actually, this was posted on ClearlyContacts.com.au 's Facebook page. I didnt include a link to the post that said it cuz i know that a bunch of people are against Facebook or as they call it, "Fakebook". I sort of guessed how many were left by examining some things….oh never mind, this comment would be too long if i exolained that :P.

I guess you want to know if you will get the free glasses or not?

How will I know if I got one of the free pairs?
The free glasses coupon code will only work until it reaches the limit specified on your printout. Once we’ve reached that limit, you will see a message that tells you that the code is no longer valid and will not apply the discount to your order.

So, if the coupon code works for you, then you certainly are one of the lucky 100, if the coupon code does not work, please notify me as a comment here and ilk mark this freebie (sort of freebie) as expired.

  • +1

Awesome, just ordered some glasses delivered for $15.23. Great deal!!
I'm not really certain on my prescription, so I guessed based on my contacts prescription and sent an email asking them to delay my order until I can verify my prescription tomorrow. Hopefully all ends well.

  • Just ordered a pair, thanks for the deal!

  • -4

    OMG FREE GLASSES OF CHOICE!!!

    fail. they cost $15 delivered.

i tried a free pair last time they had the offer. they were fine. just watch the frame sizing because i recall they seemed to have a different way of measuring the frame width from others. last time i tried their virtual mirror application it sucked badly. their shipping is a tiny slower than zenni optical but still ok. without a discount, i must prefer zenni's cheap acetate frames (~$20 delivered for standard lense).

long gone are the days where you need to spend big $$$ on frames. they are so cheap i even started accessorising!

contactconnection.com.au has cheaper contacts for me (90pk trueye $82 vs $99 clearly contacts).

    • +1

What????!!! The GLASSES are free is what i meant! I MENTIONED that shipping needs to be payed, so lay off, okay!

      Sorry….got a little hyper there.

  • +1

I think quality of glasses from Clearcontact is better than gogles4 (something likes this).

  • +1

thanks just got a pair for $13 shipped

make sure when choosing shipping option to go for the priority shipping instead of express to bring the total cost down lower.

  • +1

Thanks. Just ordered some $65 glasses for $14 shipped

  • +1

    Just ordered a pair, Postage(Auspost) was $8.88 !!!
    Thanks!! :)

  • i just ordered one pair yesterday, damn

    • Aww. Try a different email when you order maybe?

  • $15.23 :)

  • +1

$10 for a CK frame costing $168 lol

    • +1

See, thats why this "freebie" (note the quotation marks due to shipping fee) is so totally worth it!

    • +1

      i'm seriously jealous :(

  • great deal, well done.

  • Thanks just ordered a pair of $68 glasses and paid $14.03! Awesome deal.

  • hey, i just tried a trial order and the most discount i got was $38, how are some of you getting $65 or $68 off? is the discount off the frame only?

    • +1

hmm….i am honestly stumped by that one… heres a FAQ that may relate to your problem:

I put in the code, why is there still an amount showing up?

Your free pair of glasses will include our standard 1.5 index lenses, which accommodates up to a -8.00. However, if your prescription is over a + or -2.00, you may want to upgrade to a thinner, lighter lens. If you choose to upgrade your lenses, or have selected progressives, Transitions or a tint, you will see the cost of the upgrade in your order total.

      hope that helps :S

  • +1

i thought it was supposed to be $10-15 but some how mine turned out to be $17.03

    Shipping: $9.95
    Handling & Insurance: $7.08

can i ask how much you guys were charged for handling and insurance?

    • as i remember, they charge you the "handling & insurance" regardless of the fact that the glasses are free.

    • same for my order

  • is the offer expired, i tried to put an order down, and the code isnt working for me.
i ordered a burberry spec, wondering if thats not a valid frame

    • +1

      found this for you:

Can I order any pair of glasses on the site?
Certain frames are not eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.

did it say "Coupons not applicable"? If so, youll have to choose another frame.

      • ohhh thanks for that, i missed that :P

  • Bah, all the designs I need are 'Coupons Not Applicable' (I say need since it's for a costume).
Oh well, too bad for me! Can't argue with a company giving essentially free glasses away.

  • Thanks ozbarginer!

Just ordered a pair of Tretorn for $15.23

  • +1

Ordered CK glasses for $10.08 DELIVERED :)

  • Just in time to replace super-glued glasses. Thanks OP.

BTW glasses are super expensive in OZ. Bought a pair of Max Mara frameless with -1.00 lenses incl. examination for approx AU $20 (with a bit of haggling) overseas last Sep. Probably fakes …. but who cares.

  • just order one forgot to add coupon, any way to get it cancel/refund?

    • Probably, look for a cancel order button or email/message them. Order the pair again with the code (if it is still valid). I'm sure they will give you a refund for your first order.

But how can you go through the whole process of ordering and forget it? Does the 100-200 dollar price tag honestly escape your sight? Not insulting you or anything, because it might be because you just order a lot of online stuff. Just wondering.

  • They've had this deal before a few times before I recall…

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27019
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/34686

    Shipping = $9.95 + handling $7.68 = $17.63

    Thank you!

  • Thank you very much SabrinaFu. Ordered myself a pair costing $16.

  • Why the sizes are so small? I can't find anything :(.

  • Thanks heaps for this, got a stylish pair I needed. My mother might need glasses soon and might very well consider the full price service in future.

  • does the site cater for hipsters? I need some glasses without lenses.

    • +1

Just enter clear lenses with no adjustment?

  • ordered a pair of medium thick rectangular shaped frames for $15.83

i hope i got my PD measurement right.. and lol I guess my pescription too ><

    what's everyone's ETA? mine is March 11!

    • March 11 for me as well.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I broke my glasses 3 days ago and I can't thank you enough for posting this!!!

At the moment I'm wearing contacts until it gets fixed but that will take a while overseas… So I just ordered a pair and it's good for a back up glassess too. Thank you so much :D

There's a handling fee of $5 (at least for express) so that brings the total up to $21. But nevertheless I was in need of a temporary replacement glasses anyway!

P.S. how did you know there were about 75 left when you got your pair??

  • Just tried to order, coupon is expired :(
Great deal for those who got it.

  • OFFER HAS JUST EXPIRED!
    OFFER HAS JUST EXPIRED!
    OFFER HAS JUST EXPIRED!

  • Bought a new pair of glasses with just 15 bucks shipping fees, sweet~

  • Missed it, and only a week after my stupid dog broke my glasses :( damn

    • +4

Your dog could have it's own pair ;-)

      • I think that's how she broke them. -.- I had them on my bedside table, left the house for half an hour, came home and they were sitting on the end of her nose, with her doing her typical "i did bad" pose, with one of the lenses broken in half.

        Little bitch.

        • lol, sounds like you really love your dog :P

        • +1

I adore her. She's amazing. But she's an absolute bitch. :P

      • +1

LOL look at the live traffic feed of that site

        all from Australia

I should grow up and stop being in with the kids. :P

        • +2

awww… I like our little antics tho :D

        • Where's the traffic feed link?

the right hand column (but now not all the visits are aus)

        • Silly me. Misread the thread flow in scrolling and thought the comment was related to traffic on the clearlycontacts site. Cheers.
