Well there's another +1 for moving to Optus from Telstra :P

    • -4

You're paying more and you won't be able to watch any of this sport on a screen bigger than 7 inches.

      • +2

I'm paying more? $30 pm for 17gb, unlimited calls, $500 international calls and Optus Sport (EPL) How much does that cost on Telstra? Pretty sure I was paying a lot more on Telstra for less.

Edit/ I think you must be saying you'd be posting more for Telstra if I was with them still.

        • oh, yeah I read your comment wrong. I thought you meant another plus for moving to Telstra. Now I'm worried you're one of those uncultured bogans who's anti-football :S

        • @Joey Jo Jo: I'm real football mate, EPL. Raised right around the corner from Highbury.

        • @Where's_That_Cake: EPL is okay, I guess

        • @Where's_That_Cake: Shouldn't be using the term 'EPL' then!

        • @Brianqpr: How's that?

        • $500 worth of international calls?? What Optus offer is this??

Its always been minutes and selected counties.

        • @Dud: Maybe it was 300 minutes (5 hours) I don't recall actually

        • @Brianqpr: You R's!

Well hopefully someone will do a Kodi addon like the afl, nrl, netball.

I watch it in glorious hd on a 55" screen.

      • Just installed it and watching it on my 24" 1080p monitor connected to my Samsung Note 8 using DEX.. works fine even in HDMI mirroring mode. You only need HDMI out to get it on a bigger screen and working in at least a 720p video.

  • "Live streaming limited to 7” viewing size"

You can always mirracast and it blows it up on the TV

      • +1

Yup do this all the time for AFL games.

        • Have you tried? I attempted this last week for a ffa cup game (signed up to the free trial) and it still wouldnt fill the whole tv, also the quality was terrible.

Edit: Also it wouldnt even fill up my whole screen when used on my ipad. Unless you are already a telstra customer i would not suggest switching for this.

        • @stephenvz:

I start the stream on my phone then pull up the Google Home/Chromecast setting and mirror the whole screen - works fine for me.

If the stream dies you need to stop casting before resuming.

        • I could not do this with the NRL app. Will try again for final round

        • @stephenvz: yeah it's because it literally just mirrors your small screen resolution and all rather than how Chromecast streams to the device you casted to.

      • +6

and it blows it up on the TV

        Might void TV warranty.

      • How do u do this?

      • What's the quality like though? I remember doing this back in ~2013 for AFL games and it was Coles potato spud quality.

        • I did it for NRL and quality was OK, I'd say 720p

        • @apptrack: yeah its cery better then the ch9 SD coverage.

    • If there is an A League Kodi addon created, like there is for NRL and AFL… then that will provide a pretty decent viewing experience.

      • Hmm maybe not. AussieAdons has been shutdown by the powers that be. Disappointing as they're not providing any content.

        http://aussieaddons.com/2018/04/12/aussie-add-ons-has-now-be…

        • The AFl one still works perfectly.

        • @scubacoles: as does the NRL (watching it now) and netball.

I suspect next year might be a different story. but we'll see.

  • It would have been helpful if you'd put [Telstra Mobile] rather than just [Telstra] in the title.

Perfect for seeing Bolt in action?

    • +1

I’d rather pay for bolt-on action

      • What about strap-on action?

    • See you at the game tonight hopefully ;)

    • he's on Sky News

  • Also Works for Boost customers

  • +1

Great deal and the only reason I was paying for Foxtel + Sport was for A League so glad to have this deal.

    • +1

I was in the same boat. I put the wife on a plan to get free a league.

  • Was added ages (at least a month) ago, honestly thought it was posted haha!!

  • Hopefully someone makes a kodi add on for this like they did with AFL/NRL. The NRL streaming is around SD FTA quality. So watchable but not impressive.

  • -5

    A league… Lol. Where's epl, la liga?

    • +7

      In Europe.

  • Speaking of the Telstra Offers section - can someone please confirm if the current offer in there regarding iTunes Music is free or if there is a monthly fee. I couldn't see anything clear about it sorry
