Cheaper Way of Getting Tickets to Harry Potter and The Cursed Child?

I'm hoping to get 2 tickets to the show and was wondering if there's a cheaper way to get them than via their website?

If you are willing to wait, and not too particular with the seating, wait for the cheap seats.

    As per their website,

Beginning in previews, every Friday the production will release 40 tickets for every performance the following week, at $40 per part ($80 total for both parts). These tickets are known as ‘The Friday Forty’ and will only be available via the official website. More information regarding ‘The Friday Forty’ will be announced at a later date.

Otherwise, look out for Ticketmaster gift cards at a discount, and use them to buy the tickets. Coles, Woolworths, Big W etc sometimes have offers for these.

    • The Friday forty is the best option. But you need to be pretty flexible with dates and you run the risk of trying several times and not getting them.

An alternative would be to wait until the show starts and if people can no longer make it they may sell their tickets cheaper. But given tickets are available only 3 days before the performance, you would have to be even more flexible than the Friday 40.

    • You can't use Ticketmaster gift cards to buy the tickets; there's no option on the website to

FYI can't even use Ticketmaster gift cards to pay for the tickets. Like the others have said, Friday Forty or fork out for the nosebleed seats at $65 each part plus $9.75 booking fee

    • If they are using ticketmaster logins there has to be a way - Did you try emailing or going to a ticketmaster outlet ?

      • I just tried for myself. There's no option to use a gift card (and yes I used my Ticketmaster login). I'm not e-mailing or going to a Ticketmaster outlet as I don't need to; mine are free thanks to my Amex Membership Rewards Points (once I call Amex up)

just bloody pay full price and go enjoy it if it's something you really want to see

Wait for cheap seats once it's cooled off, or pick unpopular dates. Nothing else you can really do, they have a monopoly on ticket sales.

    • London prices are still the same as when it opened mid-2016.
