CA ran out of the Asus & Acer but ViewSonic supposedly has better chance of not getting BLB and DP?

I've got this monitor, bought it for $850 a while ago - it's easily the best monitor I've ever owned. The image and colours are great, and the 144hz is lovely (I haven't actually tried the 165hz overclock yet.)

Only complaint is the ugly green on the stand, and the control buttons are pretty annoying to press, but they're both pretty minor gripes.

I have this monitor, rebadged as AOC (from what I heard, the panel are all from the same manufacturer - AU Optronics). it 's been fantastic so far, Viewsonic might have better quality control compared to the other brands

Not rebadged, just uses the same panel.
Google is your friend with learning about the terrible QC these panels have (backlight bleed). Mine has a bit bit its not noticeable.
Some people online have sent numerous models back hoping to win the panel lottery.

If you get a good screen… Its fantastic once its had a bit of calibration. Can't go back to 60hz.

This is a great price for it.

Off topic but +1 to the can't go back to 60hz part. Just scrolling in my second monitor which is 60hz gives me cancer as my main is 144.

    • Yeah I had to return mine once for the same reason but the replacement unit is all good. The the black light bleed lottery is a terrible thing to go through, especially the wait to send the monitor back, get it assessed by the manufacturer and receive the replacement unit…it took me roughly 3 weeks but guess I was lucky cuz there are people who have to return several times

  • Great price. Had this for a few months now, paid 744 delivered from scorptec. Been great, no real bleeding to speak of compared to others I've had. There was a tiny subpixel stuck on green, but I can't even find it now so it obviously didn't bother me much heh.

That said, it took a while for my eyes to adjust coming from a proper 10-bit Dell. The colours on this aren't as good, and over about 80hz, the text quality suffers a bit. But if you mainly use it for gaming (which is why you're buying it in the first place), you won't care about that much :)

  • Balls. Paid 799 delivered for the Acer XG271HU a few days ago from Futo. That said, the Acer does have a v2.6 of the AU Optronics panel, as opposed to the Viewsonic v2.3 - however, there's not a huge amount of improvement. Ah well. ~$65 bucks from a potentially better screen? Let's play the RMA lottery!

I wonder if I can just get my money back and buy this one if that one's bad…

  • Whats the best 144hz g sync monitor on ozbargain right now?

I actually really like the look of the AOC AGON monitor in this posts description. Any advice?

    • Pretty sure this…

    • this LG monitor also looks pretty good and a bit cheaper. it has a VA panel so might not be prone to BLB like IPS panels

      • A bit different monitor, especially in size. Not everyone likes 32" for gaming. For work yes, but for FPS 27" is the right size.

I found the white portruding stand on agon is taking up space and not matching the panel. Its 99% identical monitor that comes $40 dearer. Still under $800 is quite reasonable for this kind of monitors.

      • Thanks, I might just hold off from grabbing the AOC one then

Thanks OP, I snagged the last one to match the other I bought earlier this year.
