[VIC/QLD] $16 off Your First Ride, $10 off Next 3 Rides with Muve Rideshare

351
MUVFR2MUVNRP

$4 better than the last deal. MUVNRP gets you $10 off next 3 rides doesn't seem to have a minimum fare.

Muve are a new Austrlian rideshare company. I used them at the airport a couple of days ago and worked well. Selected mini (the cheapest option) and got picked up in a Ford Falcon. The driver called me to confirm location and everything went smoothly. They are available in Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Cairns.

10% of their part of the fare goes to charity and you can nominate which charity you prefer your fare to contribute to (from a list). Muve charge a maximum $5 commission per day to drivers so good for drivers, profits go to an Australian company and the rates are comparable to Uber, Taxify etc..

Rates.

most importantly, i would be interested to know how they treat their drivers

$5 maximum commission per day. Or if drivers don't do $50 worth of rides, it goes down to 10%.

      e.g.

$50 of rides in a day, $5 commission to Muve
      $100, $5 commission
      $25, $2.50 commission

Yeah, hate to burst the bubble. Tried to use the voucher last night in Melb CBD, driver picked up the job 13 minutes away, then cancelled 5 minutes later. Tried to rebook and 'no drivers are available' at 10pm on a Saturday night.

These guys haven't got a chance if drivers don't get on board, especially now you've got Uber / Didi / Ola amongst others.

  • So, no minimum ?

  • +3

Yeah I really wish they had more drivers! You'd think all the drivers would be jumping on this especially compared to the other apps. I've always had a great experience using muve and seems to be cheaper but at peak periods it's so hard to find a car.

No way. As an Uber driver myself, there's no way I'm switching to another company that doesn't have surge pricing and has fewer customers using it.

      • +1

Why not just run all the companion apps? That's what all the drivers I get do (they all run Taxify, Ola, Didi and Uber simultaneously - gives them the ability to accept jobs with one app while still on a job with another app).

        • +2

That's what my Muve driver did. As soon as he picked me up, he was getting job requests on all the other services. At 8AM in the morning, with no surge going on, Muve probably provided the best payout. However as others said above, when the other services start to surge then you lose all the Muve drivers as the pay is probably better on those services.

        • No way, too much stuffing around, and hogs up all the phone's resources/RAM/data. Then when you accept a trip on one, you have to log out of all the others. When the trip is over, you have to log back in to them all. Also, assuming that the others are like Uber, each one would most likely have an annual vehicle inspection. Again, more hassle.

Oh, and with the new rules for Uber drivers having to display the "Uber" sticker on the windscreen, you would have to detach and re-attach that sticker every time you accept a trip on another app. Because it's on the other side of the windscreen, this would require you to get out of the car, walk over to the other side, remove it or re-attach it, then walk back. After every trip. No thanks.

        • @neil:

I'm skeptical that you can make much more by running multiple apps simultaneously. I stick with Uber only. For every driver that switches over and accepts a trip on another app, it works out better for us Uber drivers as that's one less competitor. Another thing to factor in is the distance you have to drive to pick up the passenger, in which you make nothing (you actually lose money because you're burning fuel). With Uber, because it's so popular, it's usually always a short drive to the pick up. With these new services, because there are fewer passengers, they are likely more spaced out, meaning longer drives to pick them up, and therefore, wasted earning potential. For example, at peak times, with Uber, I've often had pickups that are just 500m or so down the road from where I dropped someone off. I doubt this would ever happen with Muve.

        • @MrZ: You don't HAVE to display the Uber sticker.

You can display any sticker/signage that complies with legislation.

Edit: and I run Ola and Didi simultaneously with Uber, it's true it's an annoyance switching between them all, but it's not the end of the world. Also, Ola and Didi will happily accept Uber's annual inspection report - I just took screenshots and uploaded.

Are you kidding me, another ride share?! It's strange how we have just about every company here in Australia except Lyft.

    • My Uber driver last week told me Lyft was coming soon.

  • Idk, Uber's share ride is pretty nice if you're in the inner suburbs. They're usually $3 for me. And you don't always have to share with someone depending on how the drivers pick you up lol

    • I think that's with the current promotional pricing period for the ride sharing. I'm expecting it to go up a fair bit once it's finished.

All though I do agree it will still be a cheaper option and I rarely had to pick people up as well going out of the city :P

  • How do you apply the promo codes? Can't work it out in the iOS app, also tried via logging on their website.

Edit: Seems to be here during the booking of a ride https://www.facebook.com/muverideshare/photos/a.198343960194…

  • Booked a ride and was given a 9 minute pickup time.

I'm watching the car on the map in the app and can see it getting closer and closer to me. Then all of the sudden it turns around and starts heading in the opposite direction AWAY from me.

Pickup time starts moving up. 6 minutes, 7 minutes, 10 minutes, 12 minutes… I don't know where the hell he's going, but it ain't where I am.

Pickup time now at 18 minutes and he's still driving in the other direction.

I cancel the ride and select "driver not en route" as the reason. Now I noticed that they charged $19 something out of my account. WTF???

    • Conatct support.. they are really good and quick to reply

      • Except they're not. Contacted via live chat twice and email twice over first ride charging more than double and length of journey totally wrong.

No response still after 5 days

        • Hmm I would just call them if there's any issues

      • Was on live chat in queue position 1 for about an hour. I don't think anyone was there on the other end.

Sent them a message and never received a response.

Tried live chat a few more times. Eventually got through to someone. Explained the situation and was told that the funds should appear back in my account shortly.

I also asked them to close my account and they wanted to know why (after having just explained the situation to them) ಠ_ಠ

Got my money back a week later.

Nothing about my experience with them was 'really good'
