Lol… Los Cabos has an alarmingly high crime rate, apparently earlier this year they topped the list of the world's deadliest cities. From what I've gathered there is a lot of drug cartel warring in the surrounding areas outside of Los Cabos and apparently they rarely target tourists but there still have been a few incidents involving them.
Apparently local government has implemented more security guarding the tourist areas and there have been reports that crime has lowered significantly, though it still makes me think twice about entering…
They say the same about Jamaica, yet i went there for 3 weeks (be it i stayed in the resort the whole time) without issues and heard of nothing major going down when there.
I am sure you would be fine in the resorts, most mexican resorts have good security, and day tours would be safe also.
with that said, if you win and have any fear, allow me to take your prize for you heheHehe I haven't entered yet though… 😉

Yeah you're right, it probably is very safe in the resort areas and guarded tourist areas, just wanted to give a heads up and share my research so people know about the area beforehand. 🙂
