JB HI FI edition of Shadow of the Tomb Raider dropped as well to $69. Think it was $89 before.

    • Yes.. nice . I will add into OP

    • Is tomb raider still $69

  • +1

Considering how bad the previous game ran on both consoles (unplayable to some), I will definitely wait until release/reviews to see if the game is properly optimised this time.

Iā€™m saving my money for Red Dead Redemption 2

    • +1

      Why not have both?

      • because you can't play two games at once unless you are [insert crazy streamer or youtuber here that plays multiple games at once]

        • Do you pay a game to 100% before you play another game? I have never done this. Don't know many people that do.

        • @OnlinePred: No but I have so many games to go through I can stay away from all the hype and maybe even learn some glitches and error fixes from early adopter guinea pigs and then play at my leisure when it is $5 and sleep nicely knowing I had some nice pizzas and food and drinks instead of forking out for crazy hype impulse buy day one or worse pre order crazy prices.

Just makes zero sense to me to buy something so early when I know it will get better with time.. it is like jumping the gun or having aged wine before it is aged if you know what I am saying.. as an example over the years I accumulated many games at rock bottom prices and then waited for pc prices to drop so I could have my insane gaming preferences and dirt cheap prices and have a crazy library also for when my eventual pc build happened.

End result was I have 100x more games then I would have if I had bought on day one or early in the game cycle and also a much more powerful computer with tonnes more ram and storage thanks to waiting and part picking special deals and prices.. and also the benefit of anything technology related is as time goes on the tech gets better so yeah waiting is always good for anything gaming related.

Only exception is if the game is time specific or time restricted events or if you really want to join in on the multiplayer or activities real bad otherwise as long as the game still exists and is not taken down (rest in peace evolve stage 2) you should still be able to play it and feel special because no one else is doing what you are doing and you are essentially in a very unique almost one of a kind online experience.

To each their own but this is how I see some of my games and life in general.. for me the experience is everything and the unique experience always trumps the luxurious one aka I don't mind losing and having a harder time because for me work pays off and suffering and hardship pays off even better.. everyone has their limit though and should adhere to that.

For example my cousin is a day one whore and loves stuff brand new and fresh off the block so he works hard and saves up for it and spends big moolah for all his expensive gear and day one gaming activities.

Like I said to each their own, I still have friends who play dota 2 all day long and nothing else because that is what they like and they love it.

Patient gamers ftw but recently I have been more of a semi hurried gamer?

@AlienC: wow. No need to write an essay. No need to name call because you don't want to spend the money now. Dota 2 costs more than money, it's an addiction. Would rather pay money for proper games than go back to Dota 2….. Worse than fortnight. Buying new games isn't for everyone. My mates and myself don't buy 100x games like you, so perhaps that's why it works for us. I enjoy playing with my mates, talking about the game etc, rather than play it 2 years after everyone else played it

        • +1

          @OnlinePred:

Would love that too but life situations are not aligned.. I guess different strokes for different folks.

I am maybe a hybrid of what you said and more.

        • @AlienC: so you will but new games then.. But not the real good ones

        • @OnlinePred: I basically only buy games on sale. Only full priced games or close to full price games would probably be Blizzard ones because they never go on super sale only half discounts and no idea how to get Blizzard balance for cheaper.

Also because of how nice the whole Blizzard experience is I don't mind paying top dollar for it.

Everything else is usually checking isthereanydeal.com, game deal subreddits and game swap subreddits and various key sites and bundle sites not tracked in isthereanydeal.com

Basically for me I can wait the few months for games to become cheaper like with hardware and gear because I have plenty of others to try and play atm.

Might change in future when financial situation changes but honestly not much out there because I have set my gaming standards high and only really am waiting for the best of the best games this century in gaming and those are either mainly really good multiplayer which some have arrived and really good rts games which none have really arrived yet in my eyes.. The settlers look impressive but not holding my breath because I know the great future classics are still coming.

        • @AlienC: you sound like you are 15. Or just trolling

        • @OnlinePred: weird couple of days for me.. Also full disclosure I am stuck mentally at 16.. But aren't we all.

  • Game is still 3 months away (December release). Will be other specials along the way before then. I'm eyeing out the PC version, and it's $59 at CD Keys before the usual 5% FB discount. Can't wait.

  • +2

    Enjoyed the first
    Absolutely adored the second
Loved the third more than I thought I would

Dilemma: I turn my PS4 Pro on once every 3 months, but I know the game will run a metric shitload better on the Pro than it will the 'Bone, but I know if I buy it on PS4 I'll likely barely play it. Do I buy an obviously inferior version that I will play more, or buy a better version that will get played less in all likelihood?

Or (profanity) it, just wait a while on it, 2 and 3 got real cheap real quick.

    • If you care about performance, get it on the Pro instead of the Xbox (assuming you have a standard Xbox One or an S).
Surely if you want to play it you'll remember to turn the PS4 on.

    • +1

Sell both consoles and get an Xbox 1X.

      • -3

Then sell that and buy a PC…. No one buys xbox…. PS4 for all console games and PS titles, then PC for all PC and Xbox games.

        • +1

xbox basically is a pc. you wont get a better pc than a one x for the price. HDR is almost not supported on pc monitors. ps4's good for exclusives once or twice a year but my ps4 gathers dust as xbox does literally everything else better.

        • +2

@niaboc: Yep PS4 pretty much only has exclusives going for it. Xbox One X can be used for UHD Blu Ray, Dolby Atmos Gaming (as well as 4K gaming like a PS4 Pro). Can't get that on a PC for anywhere near the price, and can't get that on a PS4 full stop.

If you love the games you'll get a PlayStation anyway, same reason people bought the original Wii, that thing shipped with RCA when HDMI was already a standard. But it's exclusives (and motion remote tech) was what made it thrive, not graphics.

        • +1

Nah Xbox is a much better machine when you have kids. Game sharing on Xbox is great, can buy a game digitally and share it with my son. If I buy a game on Steam, I can share it but we both can't play it at the same time. So a PC is more expensive and I would need to buy 2 copies of every game we want to play together.

        • @niaboc: I'll just play steam games on the xbox then? I had Xbox 1 but all the games I bought on it were on the PS4 too, and PS4 pro was cheaper, and have a gaming PC for steam games and legacy games, so Xbox 1 did nothing the others couldn't do at all. PS4 exclusives are pretty amazing, ms can't touch them for exclusives.

        • @camshandez: I can't get an xbox that plays steam games…. So having a PC and a PS4 has me covered for games. I would be missing out if I had an xbox instead of either.

        • @sallan75: Agree on that one.

  • Might switch my Forza Horizon 4 pre-order to this, or Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

So now the season pass for Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Croft Edition) is effectively $75?
