    Awesome first post, OP.

    Hi OP, welcome to OZB.
Please add which model (4GB/64GB or 6GB/64GB) in the description for better understanding

I had a quick look at Mi 8 SE: AU$341 + GST is for the 4GB/64GB model and it seems like they don't ship it to Australia.
Only the 6GB/64GB model (price $378+GST) is currently available for shipping to Australia

Edit - the Gold Colour Mi 8 SE 4GB/64GB is shipped to Australia - JoyBuys shipping policy is rathar confusing

  • Any issues regarding (description highlighted in Yellow)

    • Language: Chinese,English
    • Google Play: no
    • Charge: CN plug
    • Modle: Xiaomi8 (root & flash to global Version)
    • I think it's the Chinese version so you will need to flash it to Global Rom.
Did it before, just have to wait 15 days for unlock key, other than that, no issue.

it is chinese version. you cannot install google play. it is hard to root the phone as well. The customer service is so bad. any problem from the phone, ,e.g. can not install google play, they will ask you to go to local shop to fix it for a new phone. there are plenty chinese apps and can not be deleted. so bad.

      • +2

I own this phone and I can tell you I have installed Google Play very easily. Yes, there were chinese apps but I deleted them. There are 1 or 2 apps that left with chinese in it…but they are in 1 folder I never open. Also, never seen any ads(once disabled).
I have been using this phone from last 3 months without any issue. So I can definitely recommend this.

        • -2

the website says NO GOOGLE PLAY.hahaha…, you must be legend to get GOOGLE PLAY INSTALLED.hahaha….
Thank you for sharing such a good story with us.

        • @kangaroobaby888:

nope it's easy to install google play store on this or flash global rom too I've helped 2 people do this and they are fully unlocked only the redmi variants had a few locked phones the rest all unlocked. loads of info on them out there

        • @kangaroobaby888: The website says phone doesn't come with Google Play Store Installed. But they never say you won't be able to install it.

        • @kangaroobaby888: it's pretty straight forward, you can either get the unlock code to flash the rom to the global rom, instructions are straight forward or if you don't mind deleting the Chinese apps individually, you can just download the goggle play store app and install it straight onto the phone. Once you have it, it will update itself and you're all set.

  • Hey guys,

I have a friend looking to replace a galaxy S7 Edge with a cracked screen. ( replacement is around the $450 mark )

Would a device such as this one suit his expectations coming from the S7 ( He appreciates the camera )?

  • Man, that GST change, really.

Bought it on 4th Aug from the previous deal, haven't received my phone yet .

    • +1

Same here. Purchased on 4th August and still has not received it, no tracking after 7th August. Keep going back to support and got advice that I can only request refunds after 6th September.

      • +1

who are you planning to request the refund from ? Paypal ?

        • it might take you 60 days to solve the problem with them. you have to post it back to China to receive the refund it will cost you a lot to post a item with battery to China. my last order was arrived after 40 days and it took me nearly two months to get partial refund.

        • According to Joybuy

What if I don't receive my item on time?
l We recommend first to check the shipment status of your item. If the item wasn't delivered by the promised delivery date, you may contact our customer service for a refund. At present, our commitment is that in all countries and regions, items must be delivered to the customers within 60 days of shipping. If the seller promises a shorter shipping time on the product page, the seller's promise overrides ours. If there is a problem with the item during transit, you can contact our customer service.

Shipping statement on my order states 20-30days, so I should have the right to claim the refunds after 30 days. When I contacted the support for refund, they told me to wait until 6th September as well.

        • @Ringo233:keep us updated on how you go with your refund

          @OZB fan:

Sigh. I thought I check the tracking again before I lodge a complaint/refund request , and it turns out the parcel has arrived at Sydney(Austpost tracking) this morning. So hopefully I will receive my phone in couple days. This is actually first time JOYBUY failed so badly for me. My past purchases usually arrived in 2 weeks. I guess I shouldn't have set the expectations too high.

        • bought USB cable from them arrive with in 7 days. bought mi 8 not yet arrived after 33 days : /.

        • @Ringo233: lucky you, mine hasn't been update yet. What happens I ask for refund and if they did but my parcel comes in after few days ?

        • @OZB fan: They said not to accept the parcel when it arrives in which it will be returned automatically. I've just asked for the refund and was suggested to be processed ASAP.
Hope it would be real ASAP. Lol.

        • +1

@Wuuuleee: ok, I might wait for a couple of weeks before asking for a refund. But what happens if you just accept the parcel as well ?

        • @OZB fan: They will send you additional invoice for it, as I was told. Anyway, they issued the refund today, but it was USD361 without GST. I'm wondering how I can get the GST back???

        • @Wuuuleee: did you get the rest of the money back ?

    • +1

On the same boat mate. Haven't received yet and was advised to wait until 30 days after dispatched. Sigh!

      • Have you got yours? What are your thoughts on this ?

        • Mine said to be at Sydney facility 2 days ago. I had the full refund now fortunately/unfortunately lol. Not too sure what to do, receive and ask for another invoice or refuse to receive (I doubt if I can as I used my workplace address) as there might be other versions of the mi8 coming soon somehow.

        • +1

@Wuuuleee: you probably can't change the address now as it's already coming . But there's always new version coming

  • Is Mi8 international version or Chinese version?

  • Chinese version. Mine arrive today after like 34 days payment.

    • How are you enjoying your mi8 ? Are you looking forward to flash global rom on it ?
