  • Probably more useful as a kids toy than anything else now..

    • especially considering 2G shutdown the network over a year ago.. kids probably wouldn't want to play with it, they'd rather an iphone!

      • Vodafone 2G closed 30/6/18

$8 for a FM radio with rechargeable battery. Now with bonus dictation capabilities!

      Could do worse.

May as well give the $8 to a charity.

  • VGA Camera!

  • $8 paperweight

    • Too expensive for a door wedge.

  • So pocket personal radio and dodgy camera/time waster games

Surprised they're selling these. It's probably false advertising.

    • How is it false advertising?

Can't be used as a mobile phone.

I'm thinking of when Apple got done for saying an iPad was 4G (which it technically was) merely because the band it used wasn't offered by any Australian telco.

Yes, selling a phone that can't phone.

  • I didn't even know DGTEC made mobiles …

    • They just rebadge generic products & don't have a great reputation, so got the nickname "DodGieTEC".

Good burner phone, buy it then burn it.

  • How are these even worth the shelf space?

  • +3

Should be chucked out, basically useless to anyone and a mere cash grab from woolies

Was this actually posted in 1994, but the server was lagged, so it's just catching up now?

Poor form from Woolies. Some of these are going to end up in landfill just because they wanted to make some quick bucks.

  • +1

they're preying on naive grannies to snap them up

  • +4

Shocking that woolies are selling these when they can't be used here in Aus.

    What a useless deal!
A phone that can't be used as a phone!
