LG G7 64GB - $899 @ JB Hi-Fi

120

Usually $1099. Cheapest price I can find for local stock. If you have access to discounted JB gift cards, such as RACQ Rewards, it will price the price down to $855.

Cue boot loop and "I'll wait until its $500" comments.

They actually made a good phone this year. It's an absolute buy at $500.

You'll probably only have to wait for something like 2 months.

  • I've been very happy with my V20 apart from battery life being meh. My wife has a G6 which she also really likes. If you care about audio quality at all LG phones are excellent.

Yes, the prices do drop quite quickly so I'd wait it out if you're interested.

    • I found the V30 battery to be a massive improvement over my V20. Glad I swapped to it.

    • How's Nougat? =)

A big problem with lg is poor software support.

    • My LG V30 just got a software update the other day which includes the August 2018 Google security roundup.

That's not really something to brag about, because it's already September, and my phone is on September update…

        • Well unless you own a Pixel or Nexus then you're full of crap. The September update only started rolling out yesterday and only to Pixel and Nexus devices. Even if you do own one of them, a one day lead time isn't anything to brag about.

        • -3

@potplanty: How is it one day lead time? Security update is on the 5th of every month. Do you have September update now on your LG? I had it yesterday.

        • -1

@Bigboomboom: Because it came out yesterday. That means it has been a day. I could get the patch tomorrow meaning you had a one day lead time.

          What phone do you have?

        • -2

@potplanty: Pixel 2. So will you have patch tomorrow? I'm 100% positive that's a no.

        • -1

@Bigboomboom: What a stupid question to ask. I'm not LG nor do I officiate patch roll-outs for them in Australia.

        • -2

@potplanty: So then your statement is stupid, because LG isn't one day after Google.

        • -1

@Bigboomboom: For all either of us know, they could be. Are you really not getting this?

        • -2

@potplanty: Because I know it's definitely false. It's usually 10-14 days later, could be up to 20 days. NOT one day. Never.

You can neg me all you want, doesn't change that FACT.

    • still waiting for oreo for my v20 …. believe some carriers in US have roll it out …….5 mths behind schedule

  • Would have been cheaper at allphones eBay with 20% off. But you know. Jack Jack Jacky.

    • +1

Would have been cheaper if Allphones left it at the thr $1099 RRP, but every time there is a 20% off eBay sale that Allphones participates in, the price mysteriously changes to $1218.99. So strange.

LG will be releasing an Android One version of this called the LG G7 One in the coming months. It's supposed to be at a lower price point too. I'd wait for that since you'll get faster OTA updates and a stock Android/Google OS like the Pixel phones.

No second wide angle lens unfortunately, which is one of the G series main features.

    • 32gb storage is for peasants man.

      • depends how many selfies you take and want to store, 32 gb is ok for me.

      • +2

It has expandable storage doesn't it?

        • They should put dual microsd slots in

    • Any news on the release date?

Thinking of selling my Pioneer XDP-300r (DAP) and getting LG G7 One and possibly a Chord Mojo.

Was thinking of the V30 but bloat

    • android one version would be great.

Anyone know any info about LGV35 being released in Aus?

    • According to LG, probably won't be. V40 will be released in a couple of months…

      • Dangit… Have been holding out for a while now on my dying Nexus 6P. Yeah I heard V40 will be announced in October, but I was really hoping for LGV35 since I have been hoarding compatible LGV30 accessories since last year.

  • Ill buy this when it will be sold under $600. I like my G6 phone more then Pixel 2 that I bought a few months ago.

  • I feel it's a bit pricey considering the similar options out there for a cheaper price. Oneplus 6, S8 or the V30+. Sure, those options do all have their drawbacks (lack of oneplus AU support, S8 and v30+ with last year's specs) but are cheaper for similar performance.

Got one last night to replace my S7 Edge. Bloke took another $40 off so that made it $859. Forgot to use the RACQ 5% off discount for gift cards though, so could have had another $42 off but ah well.

Only used the phone for a few hours but it definitely feels much better than my S7E (Which only just had the screen and battery replaced too). Good to get away from Samsung after 5 years as well.
