Comes out to ~$8.09 per ticket with 10% off coupon and cashback.

  • Thanks OP

Have my sinemia which is cheaper..

    • What’s this?
      Cheaper than $8.06?

    • +1

Just had a look at it. Do you pay the booking/processing fees or does Sinemia? It doesn't seem to be clearly stated.

      • +1

Sinemia pays for everything. You only pay for the membership.

Source: Member since past 3 months.

        • After doing so how do you get the tickets? It seems liek people are having trouble with using the Card and maybe even paying for the service ?

    • +1

Sinemia is a worthy mention, but the cinema selection is limited. For me in Melbourne there's only 1 Hoyts theatre to use with the subscription.

      • +5

This is simply not true. Sinemia works with almost every cinema in the country. Village, Hoyts, Event etc. I have been using it for 3 months, have seen 6 movies in both Hoyts and Village and the total cost for a YEARS worth of movies was only $88. Therefore it has cost me around $15 per movie so far but given I still have 9 months worth of movies it will end up costing me around $3.9 per movie.

        • Are all movies available with Sinemia?

        • Hey Savitar, thanks for the insight!

Are the tickets you get in your name only, or can they be shared with friends?

        • @kindshibe: First question, yes you can see any movie with cinema. What is restricted, depending on your subscription is the way you see it (IMAX, 3D etc). BUt if you are happy seeing at a normal cinema in normal screening then every movie is available. You also have NO restriction to when you can see a movie. Saturday night 8pm, no issue.

In answer to the question about the name of the tickets. Here is how it works :

          • You get "advanced ticket authority" on the app
          • Buy the ticket on line using their virtual card, all booking fees are included. But you buy it using YOUR details, or frankly anyones details if you want. Their virtual card is just authorised for the amount of the ticket. THerefore the ticket gets emailed to you, you can give it to anyone if you want….HOWEVER
          • Within 30 mins of the movie (either side) you need to physically be at the cinema to check in on the app and tell them what movie you are seeing. OTherwise they charge your CC the amount of the movie.

          Hope that helps..

        • @Savitar:

Thanks for the detailed response, it was super helpful! I'll definitely look into it.

Seems like they are currently running the service at a loss to get subscribers, so I better jump on in before they raise the prices!

          Thanks again!

A good deal. However hoyts charging a $3 booking fee per ticket for lux is ridiculous!

  • +11

    As per the op mentioned

Valid 5th to 19th September only!

  • +6

    Very short validity

  • +14

Just beware that these are only valid for "Saver" or "Super Saver" sessions, which rules out pretty much 90% of sessions for those who work regular hours (the 10% being 10am sessions on weekends).

Good value if you go weekdays during the day though.

    • Yep. Wish I read this earlier! Tried to get a refund but got quoted the fine print stating "7-day cooling-off period does not apply to this deal"

  • +9

Good luck using the ticket. Expires after ten days and can't be used at all sessions. Tempted to neg the deal.

  • +1

It seems that Groupon added HOYTS to their exclusion so no more 15% for this deal.

  • Aww I used shop back not cash rewards noo

  • +1

Regular price for the super saver session I booked was $12 per ticket, this was $9.99. Meh, a saving is a saving I guess.

  • Does it get sent immediately?

    Not valid

  • I paid $10 for Mission Impossible Fallout when it was Movie of The Week n categorised as Saver at the same time

  • I noticed people mentioning sinema above… does anyone know if this is legitimate? I went to sign up but it looks a bit dodgy. It says things like “any cinema in the Australia “

    Don’t want to be scammed
