There's a group of 6 of us going to Manila in early November, flying in late on a Thursday night, and leaving early the following Tuesday.
Any suggestions on where to check out - currently i'm thinking we'll stay in Manila the first two nights, then down to Puerto Galera for the other 2 nights, but i'm just looking for any other suggestions

6) Nightlife - Makati, Fort Bonifacio, Libis, there is a club at Resorts World Manila, heaps of casino hotels in Manila Bay area
7) scuba diving - Anilao batangas
8) beaches near Manila - Puerto Galera, Batangas, Bataan, Subic
IMHO, I will stay a day in Manila, leave in evening of first day to head elsewhere (by flight) and spend 3 days in either Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, or Palawan and chill by the beach and do some sightseeing.
Really depends what you "boys" are looking for and your budget
shaking my head at some of the suggestions here. it's a boys trip. head straight to angeles city. don't waste your time sitting on a bus for four hours to puerto galera. nothing there.
I hope he hasn't booked 3 rooms with 2 single beds in each.
mind museaum, dreamplay, ocean park, kidzania, there is so much to do. and of course the obligatory burgos street, ermita, malate and EDSA.

Puerto Galera is nice, but it needs a minimum of 3 nights for all of the hassle and travel time necessary, and so I would drop it if I were you.
Your trip is only 5 nights and 4 days, and so I suggest that you stick to Manila and nearby areas. There will be enough there to do.
I suggest that you stay in P Burgos area as you will have restaurants and night life at your doorstep.
Classier nightlife is nearby at Makati. There is also night life near Ermita/Malate - At a guess, 30 - 80 minutes by Taxi, depending on the time of day..
Google night life.
Manila traffic is a nightmare, and taxi drivers there are not nice people either. Do not travel during 'rush hour'.
Itramuros is worth a day visit.
Walking up and down P. Burgos street is safe, but make sure that noone travels anywhere else alone.
Unless you are sober, experienced with Manila, and have your wits about you, then it is not a safe place.
