    I did this a couple of weeks ago, haven't looked back. Feather popular razor from Japan for ~$15(eBay) then a shave soap and blade sampler from beard and blade (~$21). Reddit.com/r/wicked_edge is great for advice.

    I'll have to agree here. Does take a little longer and require a bit of finesse, but such a great shave and so gentle on skin. Plus replacement blades are practically free (10-20c a piece, each lasting 3-4 shaves)
    I went for a Edwin Jagger DE89 and it's a thing of beauty.

      So if you pay $2 for a Gillette cartridge and can get 10+ shaves out of it, it's on par with safety razors @ 20c, right?
