OURDEAL, you've got to be joking! so get this...

OURDEAL… interesting story,

So i'm cruising round on facebook when I come across a deal on OURDEAL… The Hyatt Regency Resort Coolum, probably the best golf resort in the country! so I was curious so I clicked to have a look thinking that this deal should go nuts because we go there regularly and it's a golfers paradise… in 2 days they'd sold 4 DEALS… so I dug a little further to find out why??? 1 nights stay for $360, cold breakfast, no saturdays… unless your willing to pay full price for another night, entry to the spa (which costs them nothing anyway and is built into this supposed RRP), same with bike hire (costs them nothing and added to the RRP) and most of all…. NO GOLF!

Who the hell is going to fly to Coolum for 1 nights stay at an international renowned golf resort for $360, also pay the cost of return flights ($200+ per head)… $140 for a round of golf for 2 + $50 for a cart… so really OURDEAL, your 4 customers who have purchased this deal in almost 3 days are getting done!!! and can expect to fork out $600+ doesn't sound like a great deal!!!

Hope the rest of weekend picks up for you…

Mod: Note OP works for one of Ourdeal's competitors

    OURDEAL or ORDEAL?!

    … I gave up golf so I wouldn't know.

    • God these Google guys are good …

… within seconds of my post I'm getting ads on this page for Golf Clubs 50%+ Off! :)

Yesterday … I posted something about Debit Cards … and the ads were telling me how bankruptcy might be a good option! :)

if you use firefox, just install adblock + adblock element hider + noscript + flashblock.

  • idk but this seems like competition spam

    Ourdeal link

According to Hotelscombined, the best price I can find for a random date in the future (May 6) for a Golf Villa is:

    $455 via Hotelclub

$95 savings with Ourdeal. Both links including Hyatt's page doesn't include golf. Sure, the hotel seems expensive without the golf but I don't see how it's Ourdeals fault as they are offering a price that beats the best public rate.

    • Good work neil.

OP, when you badmouth a company you may want to mention that you work for a competitor.

    • lol

        • who you guys asking?

          neil or me?

          well for me….
          it's easy
          1) New User
          2) Writing Style: not like any other 'new users'
          3) Complained about something he didn't have any 'relatioship' with
          4) OURDEAL is exaggerated throughout

        • Aimed at Neil, just asking as I have seen a few people around here being told off for accusing people of sockpuppeting, so figured Neil would definetly know 100%… or is that Detective Neil ;)

Competitive slander…perhaps adding the competitor's company to the title would provide the negative advertising they are not after :)

  • @issh, I was asking neil. I don't doubt your methods, but they are somewhat "circumstantial". :) I was wondering if there was like a way to really state as FACT that the guy was a competitor to other group buy sites.

Yes, amelyn. I'm 100% sure. While we would love to reveal the methods of how we track down sockpuppeters and such, we probably don't want to give away how as there are businesses and people out there who would exploit this information. There are a lot of unique identifiers to each user on this site (and others) which can be searched through numerous databases. That said, the majority of the time it's a user who detects the sockpuppeting, reports it, and then we user our tools to confirm 100% that this is in fact the case.

A simple example that any user can figure out. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/33574

      • I've seen that thread before and thought it was pretty funny. Just thought this case was not as "clear cut" as your example. :) Thanks for doing the good work.

        • But Jackson, you gotta admit though, that was funny.

issh, we think it's hilarious…we tease Ben about it quite a lot on the DG team :)

  • and Marty's probably only using an .edu.au email address to get whopping Microsoft discounts :)
