    Cat & Dog Vacuum - $424

Dog doesn't have a problem with it, but the cat has trouble switching it on.

    • I think you're using it wrong.

      Mine doesn't appreciate being vacuumed.

Who the hell writes TGG's item descriptions…?

    It has a hose

    • It's a very important feature for a machine that sucks.

25 bux per bag … ouch!

    • +2

That's for a box of 4 bags and replacement filter material. I'd hope the bonus offer mentioned is for 2 boxes of bags and not simply 2 bags?

    • +1

They are a box of 4 (and a pre and post motor filter), so $6.25 each. You can get them for around $20 a box, I think.

Granted it is still not exactly cheap for what they are.

      • I think they're fairly priced. They last a long time compared to other bags.

  • +2

I've had this model for almost 3 years now and never had any issues with it.

The official bags are a bit expensive, but you can get them on ebay for much cheaper. I've paid $6 for original's or $1 each for generic bags from china in the past

I've not had any issues with the generics. They look the same, the only difference is the real ones have a flap covering the hole that the waste goes in, and the bag has sewn in pieces of fabric for what I can guess is so you cannot empty it once filled.

    • +1

Actually its so it doesn't drop debris out, and if you drop it then dust doesn't go everywhere.

The rubber is give a better seal.

    • That's a good deal, mind linking the generic bags?

  • Awesome deal, thanks for posting. Not that I'm in the market, the old Miele is 14 years old and still going strong.

  • so this is old school with bags? i thought bags were out of use.

    • +2

I prefer this than the so-called bagless vacuums where you make a mess every time you need to empty the vacuum.

      • yep. After 10 years of dealing with a bagless one, I'm looking forward to never having to acknowledge how much hair I lose again.

    • Bagless promoted by the likes of Dyson etc is just promoting their products convenience but you get dramatically less suction.

  • This is a great vacuum for getting the cat hair from the rugs/carpet. We have a ragdoll who constantly malts and the power head is awesome for getting the fur from the rugs. Good find OP.

Have Himalayan, can second this. Best purchase we ever met.

  • only have a non shedding dog, so dont need any dog and cat, but just wanted a decent vacuum, usually the cat and dog ones are stronger?

    • This has a rotating brush head which makes it very effective

not sure if paying $6 each time to empty it makes this a good deal though.

    • A bag will last 4-6 months depending on your home. So $12-18 a year. My first bag lasted me 11 months, though I didn't replace it until it was chockers.

  • +1

I have one of these and they are fantastic.

They make a good one-two combo with the Xiaomi robot vacuum.

    • interesting because that is exactly what i was looking for, a combo with the robot vac

  • Two free bags do not cost $50. Do you mean two boxes of free bags (8 total)?

    • yes. Yes I did. I was just paraphrasing the offer on the website but can now confirm its definitely two boxes of 4 bags and 2 filters each.

  • Thanks op, ordered one, unfortunately could not get the penny5 code to work but very happy with the price, now to return the C2 cat and dog which I bought from Myer over the weekend for the same price.

  • Great unit! Bought one during Bing Lee sale a couple months back which was cheaper than this deal.

  • Great Deal, this is the 2nd version of the C3 Cat & Dog. Comes with the new height adjuster mechanism too.

    • What does the height adjustment mechanism do exactly? I can't seem to find much info on it.

      • +1

haha I sell these so yeah it's just the wand height adjuster they've changed up to make it easier to adjust the length of the wand. They used to have a button that you'd have to press to adjust the height which could get stuck/was often finicky to use. The black part on the wand is what I'm referring to.

        • That's the way they used to be. But the grip on the turn tightener started to slip after time.

Reckon it was changed for cost reasons nothing else.
