Please post the post-discounted prices in the thread

  • Still expensive.

I bought the 15+ one at a local store for $55

    • +1

Thats chemist warehouse's marketing machine in full flight - half price on inflated prices

Still cheaper at a local pharmacy

    • Which brand?

      • Comvita

  • +1

    [Exl. WA]

    Microsoft Exl ?

  • And the only real manuka is 15+ UMF, the rest is just normal.

15+ is the start of medicinal use

  • +2

could this be makuka rice syrup from china?

  • Get it from their ebay store if you have got an ebay code unused.

  • rrp is a complete rip-off, even at 50% off, it's still ridiculous expensive, manuka honey is overrated

  • +1

Further 10-15%off via their ebay store

    USE POLISH10

    Aldi manuka honey $10

  • I was recommended to try Aldi's version of Manuka honey instead- anyone can comment?

  • -4

Even at half price this stuff is way over priced. Complete rip off.

A good place to buy the lower grade (but still active manuka honey) is Catch. You can get 4x500g of UMF 5+ Australia Honey (they import if from NZ) for $48.

  • +1

50% off RRP misrepresent the total savings as they never sell at RRP at their stores.

    • Most of their products are 'exclusive' so you'll never find them elsewhere. You're right though.

  • +1

Look for locally produced raw honey being sold in unmarked jars at your local stores. Usually sells for around 10 per 500g but worth it IMO.

    • This is about Manuka honey which is used for medicinal purposes eg healing ulcers - not everyday honey for morning toast.
This comment only meant to educate all honey's ain't honey :)

A lot of people think UMF5+ honey is medicinal. But it's not.

  • Username checks out…

  • Australian "manuka" (i.e. Leptospermum) honeys are just as good as NZ ones:

What you have to do is buy honey from producers in these areas. All else is marketing.

  • This honey is UMF 5+, 10+. Might as well use maple syrup.

The actual deal (if it is one) is this.

  • "dont forget cash rewards and shopback"

Just wondering, can we use both cashrewards and shopback at the same time for the same transaction?

    • No

  • Looks like they have activated the UMF15+ version on ebay..

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/322161738213?ViewItem=&item=3221…

    Use POLISH10 to take a further 15% off! + cashrewards/shopback cashbacks

    • Still pricey. Cheaper to get 15+ from Amazon

        • I should have been clearer, I meant other brands.
          Https://www.amazon.com.au/MANUKA-HONEY-8-8oz-Medicinal-Stren… $59.88 but higher quality
https://www.amazon.com.au/Bella-New-Zealand-Manuka-Honey/dp/… - $44.95 equal quality and the comparable product to Comvita I'm guessing.

          Both 250g.

I'm no expert on Manuka, looking to buy it for the first time as the household got sick recently and I'm sure we could have been more comfortable had we had some manuka on hand.

From what I've read, 15+ (MGO 500) is the entry level for Manuka that will actually benefit and higher ($$$) is better still.

        • +2

@Click_It: Correct UMF 15+ is entry level.

Best to try them all and find which one you like in terms of taste and texture. The Comvita one is a bit sweet, but is easy to take out using a plastic spoon and NOT a metal/stainless steel spoon because of the active ingridients.

        • @Turd: I would never have thought about the plastic spoon thanks for the tip. Yeah being an OzBargainer an' all I might get that slightly cheaper comparable one on Amazon and add another $5 of something on the order so free delivery with Prime.

Assuming people aren't getting sick all the time, how long do you find a bottle of this lasts?

        • +1

@Click_It: Usually a small plastic tablespoon or two full with hot water take for 1 or 2 days, once a day.
Or just eat it one spoon full without water.
Ive got maybe about half of the comvita 250g left with two people using it.

    • Comvita UMF15+ $25 delivered (caveat: expiry=10/09/18).

      • +1

The active ingredient may have already gone by now.
