Game of Thrones Season 1-7 $75 (Usually $149.99) @ iTunes Australia

200

Hi all,

I’ve been waiting for the collection to go on sale for a while!
Lowest price previously was $80.

If you’re able to grab some discounted iTunes cards today (last day), this could effectively be $60.

Not bad to be able to access it easily if you’re tied down to iTunes.

I haven’t seen it. Couldn’t get past the second episode cos it felt so slow compared to breaking bad, but I guess I have reason to now because of the price :) Hopefully I haven’t thrown my money down the drain.

What's the point of buying it when you could stream it whenever you like?

Thanks for posting OP, just a silly question from a apple tv noob. Will this stream in 4k if you have a 4k capable apple tv (and tv)? I don't have one but buy a lot of apps via itunes

hi there buddy - if you TV supports UHD, it will upscale it to 4k. the stream itself is an HD stream only.

Also to note, Game of Thrones was never released in 4K with the exception of Season 1 which was re-released in 4K this year.

It appears HBO will milk it and release the 4K version of the whole show sometime after it's finished. Because season 1 in 4K looked (profanity) amazing.

  • I'm actually surprised you found it slow compared to Breaking Bad! They're both slow but compelling! (to me)

    • The pacing seemed slow. It started of with lots of action so I was expecting more of that but instead was greeted with lots of dialogue. I've been told it gets better but requires a lot of investment before that happens. Breaking bad felt gripping from the get go to me.

Interesting, I felt the opposite :) love GoT but lost interest in breaking bad..

Good thing I waited patiently…I've been buying discounted gift cards and waiting for this moment :D

I'm reading the books, so seeing the artistic direction of the motion pictures will be exciting

I have to agree with you here. This isn't even a 4k stream - if I was going to pay this money it'd be for a physical blu-ray copy of the set that isn't tied to an online repository.

Imo the only stream worth paying for is a streaming service like Netflix or Stan where there is a wide variety of selection for convenience (I have them as an alternative to freetoairtv only) - not individual items like this…

      • I’m paying more for the convenience factor.
I’ve got a bunch of Blu-ray discs myself, but I often forget which disc I’m on making it a hassle to swap. It’s just me but I find it a pain to constantly swap discs.

I can access this on my iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. So for me it’s worth it :)

      You paid the iron price.

    Ain’t a collection when the series hasn’t finished…

  • Damn. I just purchased the individual seasons 2 days ago :(
    I'll try a refund (I haven't watched any).
