Picked up a family q!

Thanks for the notification of discount ozbargain community.

What size gas tank do most use on the family q. Assuming 9kg is the biggest the little holding tray can take?

Also, what’s everyone’s techniques for perfect stakes/sausages in terms of heat settings?

I use a 9kg bottle, lasts forever.
For cooking, use the instruction book (which includes cooking times, recipes, etc.) as your starting point and you will develop your own tips.

Yep definitely go for the 9kg. I keep a full gas bottle next to the barbie so that I'm never out of gas mid barbeque/roast!

No real technique for sausages, if they're cooked and not too burnt that's fine!

Steaks, depends how you like to cook them!

I'm still on the original 9kg bottle that I bought when I got the Family Q - bought Weber July 2015 and gas bottle shortly after. It's still going strong, though I don't use it as often as I'd like!
