Just found out that UE boom is releasing their 3rd generation of the speakers, so I'd assume these would be clearance at all Officeworks while they move out their old stock
Yeah both UE and JBL have just released new versions. The clearance prices are obviously a lot better than the new ones coming.
Just a note: the Megaboom went straight from "Megaboom" to "Megaboom 3" since the original Megaboom was only added to the range with the 2nd gen Boom speakers, so this is only one generation out of date, not 2 gens as the nomenclature might suggest.
Also this is a really good price, I was looking at them and the previous cheapest was always in the $190-$200 range. The new Megaboom 3 was, cheapest that I saw, around $239 from Myer during their 20% off (PMYERSHOP) eBay sale. By all accounts the newer model is slightly better, but certainly not $80 / 50% better.
Had this speaker for quite some time. I'm a big fan. +1. Don't recall ever seeing it this cheap.

I've called my local Officeworks and they've told me that all stores had a cut off until the 21st to send their old stock back to Logitech UE and that most of them would have already sent them back (like my 2 locals). Would be a good idea to call any stores around you and get them to hold one for you if you were interested.
But this sale, I'm told, will end tomorrow.
Update: I found a local that did stock them still and their prices were still full retail, so your mileage may vary
Yes indeed, one of my local stores still have them at $229 for certain colours, while the orange colour is at $185. So the $160 price is store dependent. Unlikely to get any at this price given the cut-off date. Another store told me they have sent all their old stocks back to the supplier.
I think Melbourne qv store still had a few plum coloured ones in stock yesterday at 160. Other colours still 229.
