Sony MDRXB950B1B Extra Bass Wireless over-Ear Headphones $129 + Postage (or Pickup from NSW Enfield) @ SkyComp

140

Hi Guys,

First time posting.

Ordered one of this headset. Most shops are selling it around $170-210 .

Paid $129 + $13.5 delivered to my address.

I really would love to get the BOSE QCII, however, it is way out of my budget.

Hope this is a good deal to share with everyone.

  • I purchased the Audio-Technica ATH-WS770is 'extra bass' ones that came up last week on OB (delivery now due/cost @$114.00).
Wondering now of course how the two compare :OS

    • Great. Are you happy with it so far ?

      • Can't actually test out until Sunday (or so).
Will endeavour to return and comment on afterwards.

Just got them this afternoon and been checking out many 'bass' challenging song(s) from a few of my favourite genres predominantly (retro) Rock and Blues from a bit further back. I can safely say I like them… was I expecting more, probably. They'll certainly 'do' but I fully believe others within this price level may well be superior. Being a bass appreciator and having got into the market at this price suits me for now.
I'd give them a solid (if pedantic sounding) 7.8/10. Very good build, fairly light and feel really nice over the ears.

Sub note: Highly recommend listening to songs by The Cruel Sea for checking headphones as many/most of their songs are VERY bass heavy, coupled with Tex Perkins deep and 'oaky' voice it is possible to blow $1000.00 headphones up or certainly leave them SMOKIN' IMO.

        Regards, hope this helps.

  • Any good?

I had the noise cancelling version (XB950N1) and I thought the sound was really good. Read a lot of good reviews for it and was swayed by this review. It's balanced for a headphone catered towards more bass. There's definitely the bass but it's not overpowering and worked well for me. There's even the bass boost button but I never needed to use it.

    • (reported back to 'littlecafe' - see above :O)

  • How do these compare to the Backbeats pro?

    • I have both. I prefer BB's sound signature. I felt that sony is more bassy. Please note that mine is a 1st generation BB pro.

    • I would like to add that this Sony headset had trouble connecting to 2 devices at the same time. Also BB pro has a class 1 bluetooth which means that it has an exceptional range.

  • Would this work as gaming headphone (PS4)? Does it have mic?
