Don't forget if you need in multiples of 3 there are these for $11.90 (~$4ea) - https://www.bunnings.com.au/philips-8w-806lm-warm-white-a-sh…

    they are very bright.

    • Which ones? Looking for LEDs equivalent to 50w halogen with good lighting angle.

      • The MR16's listed here aren't as bright as a 50w halogen. I have some philips 425lm in one room and halogens in another and there is a noticeable difference.

Halogens are 600+lm, The philips 8w range are equivalent but are hard to find and quite pricey.

        • Thanks mate.

I haven't bought any but SAled's price for Philips 8W is reasonable. $7.98 ea + $16.50 flat rate delivery.

        • I got a pack of the 4.6W 410 lumen GU10. My bedroom is quite large with 6 downlights. They certainly are bright, perhaps a little too bright, but they get the job done. The 8W mentioned below would have given me a tan.

      • 13W one is very bright, not sure the others.

The 13W are very bright, so perfect for larger areas. These also have the most pleasing and natural colour temperature (for the warm white) of any standard LED globes I've tried. Only downside is they aren't dimmable.

    • Would you consider a single 13W bulb for bedroom a bit too bright? Looking at the warm white.

      • +3

13w is good for the main bedroom light. just dont whack one into the bed stand light like i did lol

        • Would two of these fit into a standard fan light? I have a large Master bedroom so one may not be sufficient.

          • @ABA: Would do I think. Our definintions of bright might be different but one bulb lights my 4.5mx3m room just fine. 2 for me would be BRIGHT :)

          • @ABA: Size might be too big. I'm trying to find some for my fan lights, and they don't fit in the oyster glass (other than some old small spiral CFL's).

          • @ABA: Two 13W would blind you.

        • Cheers, I'm gonna grab some later.

    • I put a 13w in kitchen thinking big area. But I have the kitchen light on for ambient light all the time so I have now put in lower watt globe to save money.

I'm sure most people have favourite lights they leave on at night just for ambience. Consider placing a lower watt globes for these.

  • The MR 16 globes are of great price! But take note that the Philips ones are AC units, i.e. cannot be powered by DC. They are disigned as retrofit replacement of hologen globes, not for natively LED light fittings as they output DC current.

    • Do you mean DC voltage?

    Thx Op!

  • FYI, the Philips 5W 410lm GU10 LED 4 Pack are $15.90 at Bunnings.

    • Noticed this as well, its wired wws half price is more expensive than bunnings' normal price.
I always reckon bunnings = complete rip off

  • Mr16 seem to be fussy with the transformer type, they didn't work for me.

Thanks! Got Bunnings to price match with a further 10% off.

    • how did you mananged to do this?
      I thought bunnings had Philips 5W 410lm GU10 LED 4 Pack at $15.90?

      • They matched the 8W and 13W for me.
