Womens Leggings for Gym/Squatting Recommendations?

Looking to buy more leggings as I start going to the gym more often, but don't know what's the best quality / worth it for the price out there.

Mostly looking for leggings with a thick band that are quite high waisted and aren't see through when squatting.

I've been looking at Lululemon, Lorna Jane, Echt, Nike, Gymshark, even Cotton On Body etc. but can't decide what the best out there is!

I have the Gymshark seamless ombre leggings and bra set which I love, it's super comfy and makes everything look good and is very thick.

Thanks!

The Mrs swears by these, the quality seems good. The downside is she has requested more which is bad for the budget…….https://adonisgear.com.au/product-category/womens/bottoms/

I personally wear the aldi ones as you cannot go wrong for $13 a pair :)

Forgot to dry my gear and I wore my very torn pyjamas to gym.

Don't see why people get caught up with gym wear.

      • eh half the time i wear trackies and half the time i wear proper leggings, depends what i'm working on.

  • If your gym doesn't have proper deadlift bar (ie. No knurling in the middle), any leggings would fray quickly (if you're doing the lift correctly).

If the gym has the proper bar, the Adrenaline gear is good. It's actually kayaking leggings but works well as a non see through gym leggings.

    • why would leggings fray if there's knurling in the middle of the bar? what lifts would cause that>

      • Deadlifts.

Those little middle markers won't do it. I'm talking about those that have the knurl, ie typical IPF bars with aggressive knurls.

        • How does centre knurling scrape your legs unless you have 6 inch wide hips and chicken legs?

If you were talking about your dick being lifted during shrugs I'd understand…

          • @Scrooge McDuck: Wider centre knurl.

I know I had some pretty bad scrapes in the past, changed to non centre knurled, no longer need tetanus boosters as a post-workout.

And about the lifties… It still happens. I have a trap bar for that ;)

  • I mainly have UnderArmour and Cotton On and honestly, I reach for the Cotton On ones most of the time. They're decently high waisted. You can also pick these up really cheaply with the various sales they have.

I have these and I love them. They’re quite high waisted and they stay up, and the thickness of the pants + pattern of the material makes them not see through.

  • I've bought two pairs of leggings from echt and they are squat proof but the stitching on both pairs came apart after probably 5 washes. I'd still buy more as they are good but it was disappointing. Could have been my washing machine though!
Gymshark leggings are my favorite but the cheaper ones aren't as good. I find the energy high waisted leggings to be the best!
Another brand is stryda although they're around $100 each. They're really good quality though and mine still look brand new after a year of wearing them.

  • Target are doing great activewear at the moment- their full length printed leggings are about $25, compared to name brands running about $110. A few issues with stock in stores, which is a decent sign that they’re filling a gap in the market!

  • Do Lululemon still do those transparent leggings?

they were never transparent. they just weren't designed to be worn by elephants.

  • Check out RunFaster Gear https://runfastergear.com.au/ - their leggings are amazing - a bit on the expensive side but are definitely not see-through and are made in various waist heights - everyone I know swears by them!

  • I love Lorna Jane leggings…the fabric is really thick and they last for ever! They so some really high waisted support ones as well. Well worth the money IMO because of the quality. Can sometimes pick up clearance ones on eBay.

  • The Slavs swear by Adidas for squatting :P

  • I always reach for my abi and joseph ones at the moment. But do more running than squatting. o2fit ones are on high rotation too.

If you like them bright, then lots of runners I know love these:

    I'm yet to try

  • Love Lorna Jane but also invest in a decent pair of seem free undies. 😊
