110

Commonly costs $50-$130 to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra but here is an opportunity to see them for $20, $15 concessions.

Richard Gill explores the musical masterworks which will be featured in the MSO concert season, in five fascinating 90-minute interactive events for all ages:

Ears Wide Open 2….Music from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4 and Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra Tuesday 14 June 6:30pm Melbourne Town Hall

Richard Gill and the MSO explore the hills and valleys of two big works featuring in forthcoming concerts: the autobiographical roller-coaster ride of a symphony in which Tchaikovsky, in moods passionate and lyrical, wrestles with the concept of Fate, and Bartók’s galvanising orchestral showpiece.

Ears Wide Open 3….Music by Delius and Grainger Tuesday 26 July at 6:30pm Melbourne Town Hall

The Walk to the Paradise Garden and Irish Tune from County Derry feature in the Melbourne Town Hall Proms concert on Friday 26 August, marking the 50th anniversary in of Percy Grainger’s death.

Ears Wide Open 4….Music from Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 Sunday 14 August at 7:30pm Melbourne Town Hall
