EB Games 7 Day Return on a PS4?

Hi everyone, I've been thinking getting a PS4, but I'm on the fence whether to get a Pro or Slim. I don't care too much about having the best looking games, but I do have a new (cheap) 4K tv. I suspect the PS4 slim should be enough for me, and it would be cheaper, but I wonder if I'd regret getting it once I get home and the graphics look meh on my tv.

If I bought a slim from eb games could I then just return it, within 7 days, saying that I changed my mind? Would I get a full refund, cash (if I were to decide to get a pro, I'd wait for a deal rather than buy it right away)? I know they do it with games, but I'm wondering if they'd be "difficult" with consoles.

Does anyone here have experience with refunds with them?

Ask EB Games before you buy it?

I guess it feels a bit shady to ask, I'm not sure why. I wanted to know if anyone else had dealt with them before, to feel safer.

Nothing shady about enquiring on a company's policy, that's what responsible consumers do.

    Call them.

  • Yeah you can do this with consoles too. I remember reading about it here but haven't done it myself.
Also don't forget preowned consoles will have a longer time before you need to return it. It would also mean less worry about it being in the same condition.

    • I guess that's what I was trying to avoid: look like I'm trying to abuse the service and "rent" a console for free for a weekend.

      • If they offer it, they do it for a reason. In this case - to encourage people who're on the fence like yourself to buy it. I'm not sure you get a refund for a new (as opposed to pre-owned) console though - ask EB to confirm.

    19.1 Change of mind

If you have simply changed your mind and you are able to provide a valid receipt, or you are a member of our loyalty program EB World, EB Games may offer you an exchange or refund provided that the merchandise:
    -is in saleable condition
-is unworn or unused with all original packaging and content included
-is not subject to the exclusions listed below
and the exchange or refund is sought within 7 days of purchase.

    • This means I can't do it.
How do people return games, then? I've read they refund them.

      • I'm not sure. Most games aren't sealed so maybe they just take it back provided it looks unused?

microsoft and apple (direct store not retailer) are best, you can open use and then return, no question asked

Doesn't really help OP considering neither of those stores sell PS4's…

What are you hoping to achieve in the first 7 days that would change your mind.
Do you expect to plug in the slim, start using it and go, geez this isn't good enough, I should get the Pro?
You would know exactly the differences prior to purchase so just work out/research what you want and then get that.

    Get Pro.

    Case close, no headache.

If you only need it for a week - Do you have friends you can borrow one off for a week?

  • I remember being told that hardware does not come under their 7 day return policy. May be correct, may not be; but I was definitely told this by a staff member.

Can't believe OP doesn't know anyone that owns a PS4…..

  • I heard mixed whispers that games returned under the satisfaction guarantee are actually marked as pre-owned in return.

    Get a pro.

  • got friends or relo's with a ps4 slim or pro
maybe aask them to borrow it for a week
