Had a slight video-ezy issue and received a code for 1 free rental. Thought I'd share. :)

      Coming back with a vengeance.
Netflix - eat your heart out.

Hey if it's free, I'll line up.
Getting tired of the finger prints on Blu Rays though.

I swear someone says this every time one of these deals is posted. I come in the thread just to look to see who it'll be.

I propose an instantaneous non negotiable one month in the sin bin.

      • +1

Same here. Funny to think someone sees a free code and thinks "I know something original and funny that no one has ever heard before, I'll say do people even rent movies anymore"

Yes they do. Not everyone wants to rent via iTunes or Google. Some of us want reliability and Blu-ray quality.

        • +3

Have to say, I'm not sure why people rent from places like Google Play or itunes. They want $6 for a new release, and indeed most of the older junk too. At a lower, more compressed, quality. That's compared to $4 by default from these machines, and less if you are in any way a bit smarter (eg most people won't even pay $2).

Is instant gratification worth a price 300% more?

Wonder if they're making any dough when they give so many freebies:-)

    • +1

Well they gave this one to me! So on this occasion, I would be the one messin' with their dough. ;)

    • I ran out of discs to rent. Got everyone of them for free over the years.

    • +3

Apparently their business model is the late fees.

      • +2

Yep, I've certainly given them more in late fees than rental fees. Still good value.

  • +10

Occasionally I rent without freebies, gotta help them stay afloat, want them to stay around a long time.

    • Why do you want them to stay around?

      • +3

        So I can watch movies!

        • +1

….without buying them! I've saved effectively by not buying what turned out to be bad movies.

          • +1

@sparkles: I've stopped buying them as most can be hired or borrowed from the public library these days. We need video Ezy to be around!

Code worked for me tonight, thanks!

    I haven't had a optical drive since 09

Some of us care about the best possible image and sound quality, and blu-ray is still king for that.

1080p blu-ray is still better than 4K streaming, even on a good fibre internet connection.

With no more than a handful of rental shops left around the country, that means these kiosks (or buying every movie - which is still ridiculous for stuff we might only watch once or twice).

      • +2

Exactly. The kiosk is my only option + I love it because it's within walking distance.

I couldn't find 'Hereditary' today but I didn't have time to scan through 'rented out' titles. Hoping they have it, was looking forward to it.

What are the good movies at the moment? Is Tag any good?

Don't go too high brow. I'm more a Policy Academy or American Pie franchise kind of guy.

    Thanks! Code worked.

Here’s another free rental code: BIA559640
    Expires 18/10

      Thanks!! I'll use that. :)
