P5OFF

These guys usually deal in refurbs and used stock but appears as though they have some BNIB Samsung Galaxy A8 Aussie Stock (Not dual sim).

Next cheapest AU model I could find was @ Mobileciti eBay which is still >$100 more expensive

Was originally looking for an S8 but couldn't pass up this for the price.

Can confirm tax invoice supplied for TRS.

  • This is OK for 2018 model.
Do you have any deals on Samsung s8 plus or
    Note 8.

  • Shame it's not duel Sim or I'd consider it an option

    • +1

I believe there are plenty of cheaper dual sim options on eBay. Draw card for me for this one was the AU 24 month Samsung warranty

  • How's this compare to the s8, seems pretty similar?

    • Same ram, slower cpu, slightly smaller screen, no curved edges. For me the price difference to the S8 wasn't worth it, this does everything I need.

      • Lesser camera too ?

        • Yes. The A8 has a worse AMOLED display, no HDR10, 1080p display rather than a 1440p display, worse rear camera, better front camera, a SoC comparable to the SD 660 in single core and SD 625 in multi core, worse audio output and no wireless charging. I'm not too sure about the GPU too much, but I know it's worse than the SD 660 in graphics and better than the SD 625 in graphics. The S8 has a Exynos 8895 which is comparable to the SD 835 which was last year's flagship SoC, which means it is one of the best SoCs and the difference between the SD 845 and SD 835 is only really noticeable if you play heavy emulation games.

    • Recommend you take a look at OnePlus' range if you're put off by S8 prices. 5T and 6 in particular.

      • I do need waterproofing though :(

        • erry Rigs Everything said the Oneplus 6 basically unofficially had IP67. I wouldn't recommend the Oneplus 5T as it has reports of very heavy battery degradation. While I personally don't like OnePlus as a company, the OnePlus 6 is a good phone.

          • @HaveANiceDay: I was hoping for max $500 :( And waterproofing is sort of important because I end up hiking in bad weather and the phone gets wet.

Could I ask what you think of the LG G6?

            https://www.eglobalcentralau.com/lg-g6-h870ds-64gb-dual-sim-…

            • @BhanuL: The LG G6 seems to be a very good phone but then the UI slows it down a crap ton apparently. It's only a bit slow intitally but it slows down mostly overtime. Someone had a G5 which got slower than their other phone with a SD 625. Another person had a LG V30 and they initially didn't notice that much but than 6 months after, a few apps started crashing, even nova launcher.

              • @HaveANiceDay: Oh yes, that would be a nightmare. Thanks for the advice :)

I think I will go for this one on the weekend if an S8 deal does not come up. Realistically a small drop in phone performance or image quality is not huge for me.

                • @BhanuL: Even though I don't like Motorola, maybe the Moto X4 would be a better option?

                  • @HaveANiceDay: Sorry had to travel, that looks good as well. Is it better than the a8 you feel? Screen size etc seems small in comparison.

                    • @BhanuL: I AM SO SORRY FOR MY LATE REPLY. Ehh, to think of it, at this price, this is probably actually better.

    • 2018 model….so will probably have an extra year of firmware updates over the s8 from Samsung without having to resort to downloading those homemade ones from xda

  • Nice price compared to the retailers selling it for $600 lol
