Moved to Forums as the sale price was not honored by the retailer.
Possible price error, it's an expensive brand so $55.95 is very cheap if they honor it. Free shipping if you order two or add anything else really to make it over $100 spend.

I got a "we received your order" on the day. Nothing since though be it cancellation or shipping confirmation.
no communications yet - I order few other things after this and I got shipping information on those but nothing on this one.
I just made a phone call and was advised to wait for 5 business days for order status to updated - fingers crossed…

Got a feeling they do this every so often to inflate their books for their stockholders or auditors, then refund everybody afterwards.
Wouldn't be surprised if they were resorting to these tactics, since i just saw on the news again that Myer is still making a loss.
Assuming out of 9.5k clicks, everybody at least bought 1, and the people who bought multiples would offset the people who didn't buy. Then they are looking at $532,476.15 in their account.

Its either that or who ever deals with Villeroy & Boch in Myer should be sacked, because this isn't the first time they screwed it up.

Really hate Myers non existent customer service. No cancellations just yet. I ordered a few different things. Definitely expecting the cancellation email to come though.
My order for this set I used 2 e-refund vouchers on too, that have already been reissued twice. So looking forward to a 3rd round.

Cancelled and refunded. No way for me to cancel the other item I included in with my order though. And to contact them you need to ring a number, rather than email or live chat - and they wonder why they are struggling so badly…..

I bought a bunch of different V&B items on separateorders as soon as the OP posted, but I just got cancelled on everything. How could they have made so many pricing errors on so many items?
So it looks like they've cancelled all orders, more than likely it's a pricing error. I ordered two sets on the 5th and the order status did change to "backordered" but a day or so after that my order was cancelled.
I spoke with Myer customer service manager who said that she tried to get stock from other stores but they are not selling it at Myer anymore and it's been taken off their site/catalogue. According to Myer, they cannot provide adequate stock as they have no way of knowing how many people will purchase the item online and in-store, but that sounds like BS to me, because you should have a system where it automatically reduces the number of stock once a purchase has been made.
Anyway, I will just stick to using my M&W set.

They fulfill from their stores rather than a central warehouse or by the Villeroy & Boch warehouse in Sydney's Northern Beaches but I definitely agree with you that the whole it's not being sold at Myer is bs …

note that unlike some cheaper Villeroy & Boch, these are made in Germany (my preferred everyday dinnerware are German-made Thomas and French-made Pillivuyt, porcelain over china)
But it feels so good. Both now when we're all hopeful we snared a nice bargain. And later, even more joy:
Either we get the item, then we enjoy the bargain and in this case we can enjoy it for decades.
Or we get to rant about Aussie retailers and how unfair they all are and how we hate the GST on imports and all.
