The one in the middle isn’t ripe.

    • ant the one above left as well.. no bargain then jv?

      • +3

I can't see an ant. It might just be a blemish on the skin.

    • Eat it first as it's slightly sourer, the others are sweeter.

  • +3

It looks like there is 14 in a tray, so using maths that equates to $1.43 each.

    Where's Harris Farm? Honest question

  • +1

Good deal so early in the mango season, plus they are Kensington Pride mangoes.

    • The early season stuff usually doesn't taste as good.

      • Eating my second one and it tastes pretty good.

Seen calypso trays yesterday 10-12 to a tray.

    Also seen r2e2 10 to a tray.

Seems like mangoes have come early this year!

Just waiting on the honey golds now

    • Honey golds usually come late season.

      • My girlfriend's family own the Honey Gold variety and they will be available around 20 November! I cant wait either!

Calypso and R2E2 taste like crap.

Especially R2E2, which tastes like a bad paw paw.

      • +1

For the past 5 years calypso has had longer shelf life and been sweeter than Kensingtons, you also avoid the stringy texture which Kensingtons have.
Not to mention the seed is smaller in a calypso meaning more fruit!

      Calypso is garbage though.

  • Harris Farm have some great deals sometimes. Got raspberries for $2.90 a punnet the other day, and enjoyed the $7 Mudgee honey 1kg too. I think I might wait for $10 trays of mangos though, sometimes the roadside stalls do them for that price.

    • roadside stalls

      Are they equivalent sized boxes?

Clicked on this deal just to neg this inevitable comment.

For those in Melbourne east.. $20 per tray of KP mangoes at Bushy Park on High St, Wantirna

    • Werribee Pacific Fair had $20 boxes too - B grade produce, slight blemishes. 12 size boxes.

  • There was a van guy selling them for $10 a tray on the side of Victoria Rd today. Rydalmere or Ermington, I can't recall exactly where but somewhere there.

    • Yah before kfc next to that petrol pump, last year I enquired about if the mangoes were tasty and he sliced one up then and there for me to taste, will stop by this year too

  • That is a good price for such an early season picking. Shame that there is no Harris Farm in my area. Bowral is the closest but just to get one box is simply not worth it methinks.

  • These mangoes taste no better than papaya, honestly. I can say this about Kensington and Calypso at the least.

  • I thought this wasn't OzRRP though

Why doesn’t somebody clone the Indian mangoes, widely regarded as the best in the world?

    • I would love to try
