  • Would this fast charge on a Iphone 8? I have no idea because I heard reports of apple locking this down.

    • Although technically since iOS11.2 iPhone 8&X supports 7.5W (faster charge), in practice iPhone 8&X will only charge at 5W regardless of charger. The latest iPhone XS/Max will be able to charge slightly faster due to improved coil design. I haven't tested this charger personally, but by spec, it should be able to achieve 7.5W and maybe 10W fast charge with compatible devices, e.g. Samsung S8/S9 etc.

I recall the belkin fast charger selling for 99 dollars or something, to find out it wouldn't do anything in charging faster sounds abit useless, I found wireless charging perfect for overnight beside the bed etc.

        • Unfortunately that's the case with iPhones, here's a graph showing charging speed using Mophie (Apple recommended) wireless charger, same spec as the Belkin one in Apple store. The 7.5W charging was only active for 5 min then revert back to 5W.

I personally use a Samsung convertible wireless fast charger which is pretty well made too (doesn't overheat whilst charging at all)

    • I had no issues with cheaper QI chargers with my iPhone X. But as mentioned, only charges at 5w.

    • On a slightly related note wifey got a Iphone xs and tasked me with finding a fast wired bargain solution. I am a iphone noob so can one of you kind fellow point me in the right direction. I looked around at ebay but not sure which is the legit option

      • +2

Fast charging solution for iPhone XS, you will need 1. Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable $29, Kogan has it for $25
and 2. A quality USB PD charger that outputs at least 18W (9V2A or 12V1.5A). There are lots of options with different price tags depends on if you need it for other purposes.

        • Cheap ones you can get from Banggood/gearbest, roughly $10-$20 or wait till a deal comes out
        • New Apple USB PD Charger (A1882) - $69
        • Other USB PD Chargers for laptops - roughly $30-$100, e.g. Apple Macbook 60W/87W charger, Xiaomi USB PD Charger 45W/65W, Anker 60W PD Charger. Also rated at 18W+, they will only output as much as the iPhone can take so won't damage it.
        • Thanks MM. This helps a lot

          • @FiDad: will this one charge the XS at all, not fussed if its super fast, also just got wifey and XS !

            • @blackwalnut: i think this 1 will charge the phone but the phone will get too hot so probably not the best option

  • Thanks Ok ordered one

  • Great deal. For a dollar less you can also pickup a 3SIXT 5w charging Pad from JB hi-fi.

  • How would this fair up on a Note 9? Any heat issues? I'm dying for a wireless charger but confused by the vast selection

    • +1

I got one, the phone become very hot while doing the real fast charging, so I stop using it and stick with original Samsung one, which comes with fans.

      Get the BW-FWC4

I have these from an ebay sale for my Note 9 and have had no issues with heating etc. Fast charging and better positioned.

      • Thanks I'll give it a look. Might wait for tomorrow eBay 10% off. Do you use a case with your note 9? I have the iottie car holder and it seems to work fine with my case. But this eBay one looks weird lol.

        • Yes, I do use a case and have no issues with charging.

  • +1

by far the best wireless charger i have personally used is Mcdodo, fast and efficient. blitzwolf is alright but not Qi quailfied bit turn me down, also the heat issue when charging samsung phones. anker powerpad and belkin is also recommended too for their realiablity and quality.

  • Anyone else getting lots of spam emails after buying stuff from Bangood?

  • Good for note 8?

    • Not recommended, bit too hot for it.

      • What's the difference between charging an S8/S9 and a Note 8?

      • Thx

  • any reason why it won't work on galaxy s9 or s9+?

    • I've got a feeling the description was written before the launch of the galaxy S9

    • +2

Works fine with S9+. I also have a massive case and it charges through the case no issues.

    • +2

I have been using the same one (bought from previous deal) with Galaxy S9. No issues so far. No heatup issues. supports fast charging. Very happy with it.

  • +1

I personally use this one https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10W-Wireless-QI-Fast-Charger-Cha… I think its the same technology but I prefer having a stand as i can use it on my desk while on the pc.

  • -3

    junk

  • Why it won't support for s9/s9+?

    • Works fine with S9+. I also have a massive case and it charges through the case no issues.

  • Will this work with Note 9? I ordered it but thinking of cancel it if it is no good for note9.

  • +1

this looks a lot like the Laser branded one that BigW stock right down to the blue indicator light that circles underneath.
Which I picked up from BigW for about $25 when it was on a previous sale. Bricks n Mortar and all..
https://www.bigw.com.au/product/laser-qi-wireless-charging-p… its also 39 at BingLee

fast charges my S8 just fine through the tech21 case when it has the appropriate charger attached, doesn't seem to get too warm

  • Thanks OP. Good brand and cheap enough to convince me to give it a try and break my wireless charging cherry with the iPhone X.

    • +1

Agreed, even if its just 5W for all iPhones, good enough for $15!

  • I'm seeing $23.97 from CN warehouse :(

  • I'm getting $23.97 on the CN warehouse. Am I missing something or has this expired?

  • Umm I ordered this on the weekend and it arrived yesterday. That’s insanely fast! I was genuinely shocked when it showed up.
