Picked it up a few months back, well worth the money.

  • eSports ready ?

Nope. It doesn't pretend to be though, which is nice.

  • Can you upgrade later ?

    • You sure can.

When you 'enable' the upgrade though you wipe all your gear, progress, skills, etc. Which isn't as bad as it sounds, wipes are half the fun in this game.

HM I might get the cheapest one then. I'm hesitant dropping a lot of money on a new game.

        • That is a smart choice. See you in Customs.

  • I have had this for ages, it is fun and there is solo with AI to get used to it which I still do. That being said I havent played it the past year, so cant comment on its current state. It is a very sim and tactical shooter.

    • Oh you should get back in to it, it's not perfect - but it's really come along nicely.

      • I'm playing it but struggling to understand what bullets/ammo/mods are suitable for each weapon.

        • If you examine a gun, it will tell you its ammo type from memory

        • Yeah it's not that intuitive, fortunately there's some online tools to help:

          Vendor items search - https://tarkovtourguide.com/vendor-items/

Gun modding tool - https://www.eftdb.one/weaponmodding/220001/AK-74N/ -> this will help

If you're just starting out I recommend:

          • sticking with the stock SKS or Vepr (7.62, not the other variant)
          • use the 7.62 PS ammo (PS ammo is pretty much the best in both 5.45 and 7.62 when you are starting out)

          Good luck!

      • Yeah I will eventually haha, I get better net soon so that will help for any unplayed in ages games
