  • How good are these solar powered battery packs?

    Sounds awesome in theory

    • Hi mate, these are designed for camping/hiking, with a rugged case to protect against damage.

They don't charge very fast but will be enough to top up USB powered devices if you don't have access to a power point.

      • They don't charge very fast

that's an understatement. 1w/250ma is the Chinese measurement of the solar panel. real life direct los solar charging is probably between 50ma to 100ma.

I dont know why would anyone want to buy a non usb-c pd power bank these days

    • +1

Most of my devices (over 10) don't need usb-c, nor pd so it would be lost on me.

      • +1

Even if you don’t need USB-C for your current devices:
        1. The power bank itself will charge MUCH faster with USB-C PD (eg. 30W or 45W, compared to 12W or maybe 18W or something if it’s QC)
        2. Your future devices are increasingly likely to use USB-C, and potentially USB-C PD (some of which cant even be charged properly without PD!)
        3. Any USB-C devices you do have will benefit from faster charging using USB-C/PD, while your other devices should still charge at maximum speed or thereabouts (provided the powerbank supports the right charging protocols for your devices) - ie. worst case is you will likely be no worse off by having USB-C/PD!

So even if you don’t need USB-C (right now), that doesn’t mean the benefits would be lost on you! Faster charging (of the powerbank) and future-proofing are benefits that you can enjoy, even if you aren’t making use of faster device charging right now!

I switched to USB-C/PD power banks when I only had 1 USB-C device. Now the majority of devices I regularly charge are USB-C (I have more microUSB devices, but they are mostly occasional use items). On my 5-port chargers (one in the bedroom, one in the lounge room), I always have 2x USB-C and 1x lightning cable attached (and sometimes a microUSB, for charging occasional use devices). For travelling, when I will be using my USB-C powerbank/s, I’ll use 3x USB-C!

        All hail USB-C! :P

For anyone wondering, none of these Power Bank does USB-C PD (Power Delivery).

    • Yeah looks like they are trying to offload old stock. Kogan USB-C powerbank which support 45w can be had for $39 and its a much better deal.

  • Not sure why this is good deal when you can get xiaomi and other power bank with usb-c cheaper elsewhere. Seriously if they wish to sell they need to reduce another 50% in price.

  • Hi OP,

Any idea by when you will be restocking the wireless charger? :)

    Cheers

    • Hey mate, I am not sure when they will have new stock, I am hoping it won't be too long.

As soon as they do I will try to get a new deal from the Rep.

If you would like me to let you know, just send me a private message :)

      • Hey mate,

I am after the RAV power file hub, no longer available in Amazon Australia. Can you check and help

        • I will suggest to the Rep that they bring those to Australia.

The one on Amazon was either through Amazon Global or a Third party seller.
