Has Anyone had this tv? Is it any better? There are few negative reviews about this which made me hard to make a decision.

Whether it's good or not really depends on what you're upgrading from. I've been doing much research on a few of these Samsung TVs over the past few days.
With the 20% off on eBay (PODCAST), there's not that much in price difference between the NU7100 and the NU8000.
Looking at the comparison below, it seems the NU8000 might be worth the price difference.

I personally chose the Samsung Q7 - the price at the moment (using the above discount code) is unbeatable.
