GMG prices are only in USD so definitely do not buy it from there. Jamesnz effectively paid $83 AUD

Pro tip - when you're sick of playing red dead redemption 2, this will be like $20.

    Not a bargain

  • $69 is called bargain these days?!

  • Repost, JB is just price matching Harvey Norman https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/410120

  • You can do click and collect so there’s no delivery fee.

  • $69 should just been the unofficial RRP for Australia these days. You would have to be pretty silly to purchase a game for $99.

  • Word of warning - it's now emerging that the refresh rate of the servers is 20Hz instead of the 60Hz used during the beta. Essentially this means that the server will only receive updates from your computer every 50ms instead of 16ms, which is horrific for competitive shooters.

For reference, CSGO is something like 120Hz (8.3ms between updates).

The game is the best and most fun it has every been, but these network changes really do take their toll.

The general consensus was that it was dropped from 60hz to 20hz to deal with server load, most claims about this were unsubstantiated, but as of today it has been addressed (not fixed) by treyarch.

We've also noticed a lot of discussion around network performance over the past couple of days and wanted to take a moment to address this directly. We’re constantly working to optimize the game, and particularly network performance, to ensure the highest quality online experience for our players. For a game launch with as massive a population as ours hitting so many global servers at once, we configure our infrastructure to ensure game stability as the highest priority over all other factors.

Now that we’re past the initial launch of the game, we are focusing on fine-tuning network performance around the globe, using the real-world data that we have collected. Over the course of the next two weeks, we will roll out several updates to our network setup that will continue to improve upon the experience of our players since launch. As we have always said, launch is just the beginning, and we’re committed to making Black Ops 4 the best-supported game we’ve ever delivered. This is a journey that will involve constant adjustments, improvements, and additions. We appreciate your continued support and patience – thank you!

20Hz is appalling for any shooter, and even PUBG (i love you tho bb) does better. It looks great unfortunately, so I'm still invested in it.

But there's no excuse for one of the largest game franchises in the world owned by the 5th largest electronic entertainment company to have server issues. The claims were well substantiated and validated independently in the gaming community.

Anyone who plans to actually play with a degree of seriousness or regularity should probably hold off on buying it until Treyarch outlines how they intend to resolve these issues, or release a patch. They will absolutely notice the difference.
