Read the reviews before buying this one.

  • I bought one for $10 and have nothing bad to say about it. Even the amount of packaging seemed sane.

Bought one a week or two ago at this price. Didn't expect much (just wanted a cheap emergency charger). Will try to be as objective as possible.

Mini test report / review: Tests were conducted using up to 2 USB meters (one of them is YZ1276) - need 2 testers to check pass through. Original chargers and cables used in test (not 3rd party ones).

    Output Support:
    5V 0.5A
    5V 1.5A (BC1.2 DCP)
Can go up to 5V @ 2.1A as indicated

No QC2 or any other quick charge support

    Input Check:
I was only able to get 5V 1.5A - but currently it is ~ 75% charged so it probably didn't want to charge at max speed (could be normal behaviour)

Passthrough Test: (2 USB testers used)
When using passthrough, the output support drops to half (i.e. 5V @ 1A for iPad, 5V @ 0.5A for Android phone)
Note: once the input (charging source) is unplugged, the output appears to get a sharp current drop very often - i.e. not charging the device properly.

    Known Issues:
    - Once you finished charging a device, if you move on to the next device (without completely disconnect the cable to the powerbank), it may not reset to the correct current. This seems to happen if you were charging a tablet (iPad).
    - The auto shut off is a bit annoying (when using a tester - since it doesn't draw much current). Need to press the button on the side to keep it active.

Was expecting to be able to charge two phones at the quoted battery capacity. Only managed to do one and a half.

Reliability: Don't own the device long enough, cannot tell.

    Summary / Conclusion:
You get what you paid for. It's very ordinary (and that's being nice).
Always completely re-connect the cable(s) if you (1) switch device you are charging AND (2) you finished using pass through charging (i.e. don't just disconnect the input cable, disconnect & reconnect the output cable as well).

Okay for an emergency charger. Not sure it is worth it for day to day use.

  • My laptop has a 3cell 45Wh with USB-C input (E480). Should I be looking for USB-C PD (45W+)? anything else?
