Probably because it just came out. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro just came out too - that's $1,599.
The P20 Pro came out in April so it has had half a year to drop in price.With this logic I think I will just wait for mate 20 pro after 1/2 year when go overseas claim TRS with it while waiting for eBay plus offer

Better AI i'd assume (think duplex) - plus P20 should really be compared to Pixel 2 XL. Not much different between the prices for Pixel 3 XL and Mate 20 Pro.

Haven't owned either but if you want stock Android experience and faster future updates then go OnePlus.
P20 pro has an amazing camera, specially the night mode. OnePlus camera is not bad by any means but if camera is important then go P20 pro.
Having said that I find the front camera on the p20 pro is quite average
All I know is P20 pro beat OnePlus at camera without question. But OnePlus offer more of a stock android software experience.
OnePlus use Sony camera. Huawei use Leica camera to all recent models.

P20 is based on the old kirin 970. Mix 3 is interesting but 1080p and 3200 mah battery.at this point the only next gen processor is the mate 20 with the kirin 980. That's why I skipped the p20 even way back in April!
