Beware of Bloomex Florist! Check out Advertised Vs Received Picture!

Bought some flowers for our 9th years wedding anniversary from Bloomex - mistake that i did not check the review as I thought the pricing on the website was quite competitive. I ordered this arrangement as I thought it was lovely (coupled with a lovely name) (https://bloomex.com.au/404-Error-Page/Lavender-Love.html) but my wife received this instead : https://imgur.com/a/stv4BRL - This includes upsizing it (the maximum upsize allowed) !!

Tried to organise a refund and they have asked me to arrange for the courier company to recollect the flowers back - but the courier company says that the seller needs to arrange all pickup arrangement. At a standstill at the moment as the company refuse to co-operate and I am trying to organise a credit card chargeback on basis goods received was different from what is advertised.

Just thought i share my experience in case anyone is thinking of buying from these dodgy sellers. Anyone has similar experience i.e. buying something advertised and the ultimate product is totally different from the picture ?

Just look at the pictures on the menus of any fast food establishment.

Normally I’m pretty quick to comment on buyers’ false self-entitlement in complaint posts like these but my god that is nothing like what you’ve ordered.
Pretty misleading advertisement so chargeback away.

    • Normally most (if not all) companies i deal with will resolve such problem quickly (the picture says it all), but these guys are making it almost impossible to get a refund. Initially gave me a courier number to call, only to be answered by a guy saying he hasnt done courier in last 6 months. Gave me another number, but no one was answering it (despite trying for almost 2 hours). Finally gave me fastway number to call, only to be told only Bloomex can arrange for the return. Bloomex insist that I arrange the return via Fastway on my own but Fastway refuse to deal with me. Posted a few comments on facebook only to be taken down.

The fact they expect you to return fresh flowers at all is kind of ridiculous. What do they expect to do with those flowers after they get them back?

    This mug comes to mind.

    • I wish i got that mug instead …

  • There's a whole page dedicated to them - Bloomex Australia ruined my day.

  • Wow, that's really bad… when you paid to supersize it as well! Would have been better off with a $5 bunch from Aldi!

Suspect a chargeback might be your best option… good luck!

  • Classic case of "Expectations vs reality".

Your partner probably thinks you're taking this "Ozbargaining" thing very serious.

  • I like how they call themselves "Australia's Official Florist"

  • Holy !#@@%$*. I commiserate with your situation, but thanks for sharing. Those photos are horrid and damning evidence. Definitely going to steer clear from this mob in the future.

    error-page….

Funny thing is, the URL works. The company literally has "404-Error-Page" as part of their webpages URLs. What?

  • The flowers are the same as in the store pic, but they look like they have had a rough day. Is this the condition they arrived in? Would be good to have a pic of what they looked like as a bunch

    • There's one or two varieties missing, or significantly different in colour/size to what was pictured.
Agree that depending on the vase size bunches can go from looking great to looking horrible, but it's pretty extreme

  • if you be careful enough, the url would be a dead giveaway from some dodgy e-business, whoever using those 404 error in their url directory? Must be a cheap knockoff company paying for copycat website so it always looks suspiciously glorious.

Your post reminded me of a segment on ABC's The Checkout (RIP), showing how different the actual products are from the shots on the packaging.

I went to find its youtube playlist for this segment, and surprise, surprise, Bloomex is actually featured on 3 of them: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcnP8uT1FzoX4gimY6dvr…
