Comments

  • No Gran Turismo? What's the point?

    Also…

*A compatible USB AC adaptor (not included) is required to use this console. Use an AC adaptor that supports 5 V, 1.0 A USB (Type A) output

    Seriously?

    • Just following the route of the Nintendo Classics.

    • There's absolutely no way the original Gran Turismo can ever be included. That would be a minefield of a game in terms of royalties.

    • It's so all stock can be shipped world wide without the need to supply specific shipments to different locations requiring specific plugs.

Helps manage supplies, without short handing, plus cuts a little cost for them, for something most people in the world with a smart phone have.

Seems like a pissy point to whinge about.

  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Wild Arms is all I need.

  • So many awesome games missing from that list.

I hope some one hacks it like the snes mini so you can add other games.

      Retro pi

Yeah, I dont get it either. I have a Retro Pi and it does all of these consoles and more. Can even get cases for the Pi now that look like these old consoles.

I just don’t get the hype. If they played the old discs or cartridges that the original consoles did, I would be on it, but they don’t.

Agree, not to mention you can have all and not limited to one retro console let alone only 12 games, with the added flexibility to use Bluetooth Controllers and have all games on 1 SD card.

          • @Godric: And it still feels like buying one of these retro consoles, because you need to supply your own power adapter for the Retro Pi as well… :D

        • +1

Someone will hack it pretty soon and you'll be able to play all the games.

But I'd still rather have a retro pi, or just play them on my hacked Vita.

Looking forward to the N64 mini though (there's a few games I can't play on my hacked Wii U for eg Goldeneye)

    • Unlike the NES/SNES mini, Playstation had a lot of classics that are not owned by Sony as a first party. Sony was gonna have an issue with licensing games for this console due to competing markets with remakes and so on, the issue is similar to when or if Nintendo do their N64 mini, any of the rare library such as golden eye and so on will be inaccessible due to the developer being with Microsoft, although it is a smaller scale issue for Nintendo.
