How Much Are Syd-Cairns Flights?

Hello,

Thanks for coming here. I've never been to Cairns and was wondering how much flights normally cost from Sydney. Thinking about going for a week during February 2019.
Does anyone know if a domestic sale is pending for a specific carrier or any credit cards I could apply for? I've yet to hop onto the bandwagon of using frequent flyer points.

Any pieces of wisdom shared will be really appreciated:)

    Honestly, no one knows. Flight prices fluctuate all the time due to supply and demand. I booked a Melbourne to Sydney flight for $99; the week before was showing $115 for the same flight

    There's no hack to get cheaper fares, unless you mean typical things like flying when nobody else wants to fly (i.e. really weird times or dates).

      Thank You! I will but the thought to visit cairns just popped up and I had no idea if the airfares I was looking at were reasonable or hiked up. Just wanted to see if any ozbargainers might know what prices are like normally. For instance i know ive gotten sale flights Syd to Melb/Brisbane for ~60 one way but normally to Melb i usually would pay around ~80 on jetstar/tiger. I understand that each season varies a bit. I'll do some more checks
