$1500 to Hong Kong? Whichever client is paying the fees should feel ripped off

I get that the individual worker going on the flight benefits.. But this is why sht costs too much in this country

    • YMMV but medicos seem to be the most represented contingent in business class. Second are weird ass self funded people, consultants and professionals, some finance guys and the upgrade guys.

Not sure which “clients” you’re talking about.

Many businesses (used to at least) fly employees business when going OS

You misinterpreted. Business worker goes on a flight. Doesn't go economy. The business charges it to client directly or across clients indirectly through their charge out rates. And the end of the day it's coming out of the client's pocket to fly that worker on an unnecessarily expensive flight.

  • Hmmm, the Cathay Pacific deals which are finishing today are better for me. Just looked up some Business class trips I had got yesterday which cost $5,398 (MEL-AMS; LHR-MEL) and the Qantas deal was AU$9,400 (double that when making it two people.

    • All I can say is my trip to Europe that I flew J for personal, I'm really glad I got it with points!

    • wow 5k for business, did you pay with points? how many points would that be?

  • What is premium economy????

From airline's perspective, you have legs.

  • This is a sh*t sale.

The usual per person pricing structure is Economy = $XXX; Premium Economy = 2 x $XXX; Business class = $4 x $XXX. Previous going rate for Syd-HKG was $800/$1600/$3200 (So this "sale" just reflects that normal pricing).

But the new norm for this route is $500 economy (and that's being generous, cause it has been low $400s lately), so expected pricing should be $500/1000/2000

      i agree with you.
the discount economy only cost around $500 and wtf people will pay $1000 more just for some "legs room"???
ok fine…some people do this just coz the company cover the fee…

We did this Qantas PE SYD/HKG recently, excellent roomy seat for the 9 hour hop, good food and quick service highly recommended.

  • Too bad there is no double status credit promotion at the moment
