REVIEW from apcmag:

"For $551 the HP Pavilion G62-456TU is one of the cheapest basic notebooks with an Intel Core i3 we’ve seen which doesn’t involve a cashback. In addition to the fast processor there’s a generous 500GB of storage, and while 2GB of RAM is a tad small the overall package is a great entry level 15.6in notebook.

At a price where even today Intel Pentiums are the norm, and Intel Core i3-370M (2.4GHz) processor provides a solid amount of processing power for moderately intensive productivity applications. Admittedly the onboard Intel HD graphics won’t run more than casual games such as The Sims 3 on low settings, but at least it runs it will run them smoothly. The 2GB of RAM is on the low side, its main effect being to limit the number of programs you can smoothly run at once.

The 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen is reasonably good, but it is somewhat glossy and is unforgiving when shifting tomore acute viewing angles. A 500GB hard drive is awesome for such a low price, where you'll normally get about 320GB. This notebook can definitely be lugged around without much trouble, weighing 3.5kg and measuring 31.8mm thick, 246mm deep and 374mm wide."

  • Have a safe flight. Good cheap laptop, but not a cutting edge bargain in my opinion. Still a good buy nonetheless!

    • TY. And i noe its not cutting edge, but i just wanted to put this out for those other so called "i3 deals" that require cashback. ALSO dunno if its a plus (as i think hp isnt that much better) but at least its not an acer and its also better specs than those other i3's.

      • +1

Core i3 for under $600 w/out cashback is a good bargain.

It's a shame that there aren't any sub $600 14 inch Core i3 laptops. Wonder why there is such a price premium on a laptop that's only 1 inch smaller.

can actually get for $511 with officeworks 5% off jb price

    • thanks! i'll edit my post than

      • Price matching is not a deal. Have edited your post back (assuming you have already flown the coop) Great to mention it, but dont put the price match in the title. Mentioning it in text is fine.

  • +1

Don't put PM price in your title though

    • True.

JB will probably also match OW price if you ask them.

  • Please untag FREEBIE, as it is not.

  • its $551 at officeworks as well
