HP Online Cancel Order after Accepting Order and Full Payment - What's My Right?

I paid an order with HP online for a Spectre X2 under recent promo.

Full payment was made and order accepted by HP. Schedule shipment is today 6th Nov.
This afternoon I receive an email from HP online sales person that the model is NOT available. She declines to offer an equivalent spec model to replace the model that was ordered.

Where can I find out whether I have a right to insists HP honour the order ?

Pretty sure from similar threads previously you don’t have a right to insist they honour the order.

In other words, you have the right to remain silent.

You have a right to your money back.

You probably can't make them fulfill, but you are entitled to the interest until you are reimbursed. It won't be much, but the fact is they do owe it to you for holding your money.

      Goodluck with that

      • -2

I don't need 'goodluck', or was that a Bond girl in Moonraker?

It has worked every time. People are just lazy.

        • -1

Lazy or smart? Opportunity cost of chasing up 3c in interest costing you an hour? Two hours?

          C'on now…

          • -2

@Xiaomi: And how many cheques of 3c have you seen?

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: None. That's exactly my point.

              • @Xiaomi: I thought your point was for me to "c'on".

                • @[Deactivated]: "C'on now" had the meaning of "are you serious?" or "yeah, right" not "you should do it"

                  • @Quantumcat: Thank goodness. Someone who speaks Kalahari Khoisan. How would you pronounce it, phonetically?

                    • @[Deactivated]: It is short for "Come on, now". Just say that quickly and you've got it.

                      • @Quantumcat: For me, other phonemes keep coming out. Is it a guttural click, like a cat bringing up hairballs?

You have the right to post on an Internet forum. That's about it.

If they haven't got stock they have the right to refund your money.

In the fine print on the promo, there would have been "while stocks last".

There is no more stock. You can get your money back and that is it.

You could call HP and tell them you are disappointed that your order was cancelled and ask for a discount on an equivalent product.

  • You have the right to remain silent

  • Nah man. You gotta fight…. Fight for your right…. To PARRRRRRRRTTYYYYYYYY

  • You have the right to be pissed off, disappointed and feel ripped off. But the vendor has the right to alter or withdraw any offer even after sale as long as they refund fully and do it in writing.
