Great price, $40 cheaper than a 3000MHz set from MSY.

  • Im getting $171.26 at the end. Not bitching just confused haha

    • You are right. The price changes right at the end of the checkout. Weird!! I will change the price in title thanks.

    • +13

Sorry what's your point? Given that ram prices have significantly increased over the past two years this is a good price.

    • +7

      I paid $5 for 50BTC in 2010 so I still win!
      Hahahahahahahaha

    • Yea it's not all flying cars and hoverboards .

  • anybody know how long postage takes generally?

    • +6

Longer than a week, less than 3 weeks. Their postage times are really inconsistent

  • How does this go for any returns? We pay shipping back to the U.S?

    • +2

      I think this covers it.

      International Return Policy
Return for refund within: 15 days
Return for replacement within: 15 days
Defective or damaged products that state “This item is covered by Newegg’s International Return Policy” must have an RMA number issued by Newegg within 15 days from the delivery date for this policy to apply. In the event a product is returned that is not defective, the product will either be returned to the customer or the return shipping cost initially covered by Newegg will instead be deducted from the refund amount along with any necessary restocking fee that may apply. To file a return, please contact Newegg customer service via email or live chat.

      • Still doesn't cover who pays for the shipping costs back.

        • +3

I think this does from what I can see. Unless I am misunderstanding it.

  • Anyone know why this ram is cheaper than this one: https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/Product/Product.aspx?ite…
The specs seems to be the same - the only difference I can find is colour yet there is considerable price difference between the two.

    • because it's a bargain

      • If you look at the two the original price of the red one is higher than the black one posted in this deal. The discount for red one is also higher ($90) so simply saying that this one is a bargain doesn't explain it.

    • +2

It's just preference in colour for peoples pc build. Grey and black and white are usually more popular than red

      • Thanks thought that might be the case but given the considerable price difference I wasn't sure whether or not there was actually something else different between them.

Don't need it straightaway, bought anyway. Thanks OP!

    Edit, don't forget cashrewards 1.05%

    • fudge i forgot cashrewards T-T

Ordered . Thanks OP , nice timing .
    Upgrade for sons computer ;
Gigabyte x370 gaming 5 (open box) $110 from MSY
    Ryzen 5 2600 (-10% gift card -20%) $192 from futu Ebay
    This ram :)

    • +2

pretty good pricing for the components you got
      I got my ryzen2600 for about $240
      x370 taichi ~$190 and Team T 16gb ram for about $210
this was only in late August

      • +2

After ordering the X370 the guy from MSY tried to dissuade me from it by telling me they had "lots of issues with Ryzen 2 and X370 motherboards " , Then in the same breathe said he could take another 10% off due to being open box . I'm only human .
Did some googling and couldn't see anyone else other than the usual types complaining . Picked it up yesterday and grabbed an 8gb stick out of my computer just to get it up and running and test it . Seems to be gold ! . I didn't even do a reinstall after pulling out a first gen I7 and intel mobo . Couldn't believe it worked . Somebody had obviously flashed to a quite new Ryzen 2 bios but then windows loaded and i updated the chipset etc drivers …
So far so good on the X370/Ryzen2xxxx front , Theres definately some bargains to be had on X370 motherboards . Especially if you want beefed up VRM's and better Audio .
That Taichi has an amazing VRM setup .

  • Worth buying two sets?

      I bought one…

I bought Ripjaws ram building my first PC in 2012- 16gb for $80.

I guess it is a little slower and ddr3 but still!

    • RAM shortage etc etc.

I bought my 16GB kit of G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200 (so this kit but 200MHz faster) for ~$130 back 2 years ago. Prices are insane now, but it looks like the shortage might be coming to an end.

      • +1

Cell phone addiction is to blame. Once they started using DDR4 in cell phones, prices doubled. Desktop PC users are old fashioned now, nobody is interested in our business. There are OLED TVs and OLED cell phone screens, but no OLED monitors.

        • +2

oled screen burn-in unsuitable for monitor

I got 8GB of Rapjaws in 2013 for $75. After upgrading my computer a couple of months ago I sold it for $85!

Why the hell is this getting down voted!!

      • Because that was then and this is now :)

        • What?! I was just remarking about how the supply and demand over the years has changed… not that this was a bad deal because of that haha

  • +2

Good price, ordered 2 sets. Would have liked 3200 but it'll do and won't make a noticeable difference anyway. Thanks.

  • Bought these on Sunday for $188 because I got sick of waiting for a deal. FML.

  • Could be a sign RAM is coming down or about to come down.??

Will this work for my Ryzen 1600 on a AsRock X370 Gaming X?

    • +1

Should be fine. I'm been running this RAM on an Asrock board with a 1600, rock solid for a year. Only downside is I can only run it up to 2933MHz, but your mobo is better than mine so you may have better luck going higher.

    • +1

Was wondering the same thing (same board), been looking for Samsung B Die, but this is fairly affordable. I am running Corsair at the moment, XMP wont load, and can only get 2400.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Picked up a 16GB pair for my new PC!

I guess the price fixing has finally stopped? It only required a government with strong spending power to sue them for it to happen.

These dodgy companies must have made enough to not do anything for the next decade.

  • Sold out as of.. 2 mins ago.

Just an FYI that Newegg has a Black Friday Event page set up but is empty right now. I'm sure there will be plenty of deals to come in the next week or so.

  • Seem to be back in Stock and a few bucks cheaper ?

    • Deal highlight scheduled for 8:00PM.

  • Are these compatible with a
    Ryzen?

    • I just posted this above:

  • Have a feeling RAM is going to become cheaper, following SSD trend.

    • Hope so. Once it's below AUD $150 then I will buy again.

After being stuck on Shipment Departed Origin Country for over a week, finally got Shipment Arrived within Destination Country this morning!

Mine arrived. Seems to work fine on my Ryzen 5 1600x based system with no issues.

Actually I've run into a few snags with the memory being somewhat unstable and causing some BSOD's. The RAM is not in my Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 QVL list so somewhat expected that to happen.

I may have fixed the issue by changing quite a few settings (timings mostly) using suggestions from the 1usmus Ryzen DRAM calculator application. Will have to do more testing in memtest to see how it goes

If you're interested in knowing how to do that yourself, the dl link for it is here and you'll also need a freeware copy of Thaiphoon Burner to identify the RAM. In this case the RAM used here is Hynix MFR memory, just enter the details of your memory clock, memory type, select single rank and then hit the calculate button and it'll spit out some results.

Memtest after 1hr seems to indicate its OK. Will try the Battlefield V test as that's the only big game I have.

    • Good to hear, I'm still waiting. AusPost tracking says that Shipping information has been approved. Hopefully not much longer.

      • Mine has just got to Auspost and has an ETA of tomorrow .
        I'm in W.A (Wait Awhile)
Just over 2 weeks . I guess you can't complain for free shipping .

I have 2x X370 boards , one with a 2600 and the other with a 1700 . Will be interesting to see what what works best with what .
Currently have 2x8Gb of Kingston 2400/c15 that works as rated in both boards with either cpu . I'm assuming the 2600 will hit 3000 but the 1700 will not .

  • Arrived today . Tested on an X370/1700 and an X370/2600 . Worked straight out of the box at the rated speed and latency . Not huge amounts of testing . 15mins of linpack .
