  • I bought this at $600 and am happy with it. Well, I was until it became cheaper.

I'm not an expert and haven't used it enough to know the real quality, but starts well, runs quiet and powers things.

    • I posted the other deal too.
maybe you canbuy one at $479 then return it with $599 receipts?

  • How does it compare to those ones sells on eBay?

  • +1

This is like the TV market… using a 'brand-name' to sell Chinese rebadges:

Looks like a generic Chinese generator:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/china-huaquan-brand-2kva-ce-…

or just get a generic off ebay, $378 for 50% more output:

not saying this is not a deal, just saying it's a generic generator and you may get what you pay for.
alternative is to spend 4x as much for a Honda with a proven track record https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/414449

    • Good find, thanks, but those aliexpress links are a lot more expensive, indicating this is more of a good deal.

      Plus, Stanley/Costco warranty.

    • tell canon to lower their L lens price,it looks like any other generic lens.
not saying this Stanley is better, but it's not identical,so not the same, seeing a brick mortar store still has rrp $1299,and discount to $800 mark occasionally,it's now similar price as Ebay generic branded,I'd try this any day over a similar speced Ebay unit with same output,a 2kw max output,1.6kw rated Gentrax, one of the most well rated Ebay generater is same price@$479.

    • That Ebay item is from MytopiaSTore. Check Whirlpool for comments on this seller and related entities: https://whrl.pl/Rfa23C

  • I have one and it is basically identical internally as a Yamaha 2kva
Think I paid $699 from Costco about a year ago, only used a few times.

  • Saw these yesterday in the flesh.
Look like cheap chinese units and I couldn't find anything on the units or boxes regarding the internals

  • Far out… I don't even need or want a bloody generator and I'm seriously tempted to buy this!

    What's wrong with me!?!

    • Tell me about it…

    • it's same price as one of the most well rated Ebay 2kva generater,Gentrax

did some googling, people claim it's a rebadged yamaha.

      • Yeah but the Costco one…. UNLIMITED warranty.

That's what's so appealing. Ebay pricing on a brand name genny, with lifetime warranty as a Costco member.
You can't ask for a better deal, hence the massive temptation.

        • yea,thats what I meant
even a ebay one sells at similar price.someone online claims the internal of this Stanley looks like a yamaha unit
buy one if you think you might need one in the future, cause when you need one, your $479 then won't get you the same thing.
I bought it as a back up,cause my first one is a Gentrax, being not a Honda, better to have a back up

          • @028: Gotcha now. Sorry, I thought you were saying the Gentrax was a rebadged Yamaha.
But yeah, if this Stanley is a Yamaha with a different shell like some are saying- that makes it an even better deal!

  • The sticker price at Auburn is still $600 so where did OP see this lower price?

    Thanks.

    • Costco Churchill center in Adelaide.did you ask the staff?

      • Will ask tmrw. Thanks.
